What is the most underrated comic book film?

I like Batman Forever. For me it's one of the most underrated CBMs.

You know, I wanted to have that same opinion due to nostalgia, but then I rewatched it a few years ago. Yeah....it is awful.

Yeah, it’s pretty goofy. I tried watching it a few years ago and couldn’t get into it.

Blade. The film that ignited the modern comic book movie. Rarely does it get credit.

Is Dredd underrated though? I think most people who have seen it loved it.

Batman & Robin > Batman Forever

At least B&R knew what it wanted to be... BF had two different tones that never meshed well together.

Darkman!.. Not sure if based on a cb but this is a solid superhero flick. Think I saw this a few months after Burton's Batman and thought.. wow. This was clearly the better film given it had no hype, came out of nowhere and thus prob limited release. People really need to check out this movie!

And yeah, I don't have a lot of nice things to say about First Avenger beyond its cast and Alan Silvestri's theme song, but I think it is interesting it does have a lot of defenders on this board.

Its definitely overrated within the fanboy bubble. Had the later acts of the movie been as good as the origin stuff, I'd be on the "underrated" train, though.

Blade as a film is underrated, but its impact on CBMs is often overrated, IMO.

I think Batman: The Movie is an underrated CBM. Definitely a better film than BvS, B & R, or BF, but never gets the same kind of attention as those movies. It seems like People just tend to remember the Shark Repellent and the bomb, but its a fun film that's very effective at being absurd. There's very little wrong with it.

I agree Batman: The Movie is a pretty entertaining comedy. It's not the best of '60s camp, but it sure as heck has aged better than What's New ***** Cat? or Casino Royale. It also has Adam West at his most droll.

I'll definitely say that Adam West Batman is easily the most faithful live action version of the character. And its not just surface level faithful like Batfleck, either.

I grew up watching Adam West's Batman. There may be other interpretations that I prefer now but I still love it. I got the box set of the entire run for Christmas and am very happily working my way through it.

I know some people don't consider it a CBM, but considering how many of the comics I have read I do.

The first Bay Transformers movie is really under rated for me. It's not best of the best or anything, but it seems to get lumped in with he poorer sequels most of the time.

But the first movie had a good story, good, likeable characters and awesome action scenes, with some real heart behind it all. It's really under rated for me.

I saw the first movie on its own and hated it.

I feel like if Watchmen were released now, it would be so much more popular

I’ll throw my hat in with Blade 1 and Blade 2.

Both were very good action movies. It did a good job of reimagining modern day vampires, and more importantly Blade himself.

If the 3rd movie hadn’t dropped the ball so massively, I think a case could have been made that Blade had one of the best comic book movie trilogies.

Disagree, down to the director of the film, not the actual film. Not a personal view, I love both Watchmen and his DCEU work, but many would simply look at the director attached and still dislike it.
