What the title says.

I have a good feeling Hans Zimmer would be coming back, if they don't bring Zimmer back then the film would be a slight let down.

For Superman do you want it to stay the same? or have some new new music, in addition? Personally I loved the score in Man of Steel, I think that part is definitely unanimously liked among both haters and lovers of the film. Although, I wouldn't mind hearing Zimmer try to create something similar in tone to:

For Batman, do you want to have something similar to Zimmer's score for the Dark Knight Trilogy? Like these for example:

[YT]nST978EmHjY[/YT] or [YT]SXKrsJZWqK0[/YT]

Or would any of you people want a different tone and something more closer to Danny Elfman's Batman? or perhaps something along the lines of the Batman TAS theme?

[YT]kRZAk2rfESU[/YT] or [YT]v5nB2OJnCko[/YT]

or would you just like to see music made for both characters only just so Zimmer doesn't have to go through the painful procedure of creating an all new Batman theme after making his own defining Batman theme? Like this for example:

Zimmer should return and continue the MOS music.
Use some of Nolan's Batman trilogy music for Batman's appearance.
Not worth re-working the Batman music if he's only got a cameo.

For Superman-John Powell, but with Zimmer's theme ;)
For Batman-Something intimidating, yet heroic. I'd say Elfman, because I think he'd do a different theme this time around.

I hope they would fire Zimmer. None of that head ache inducing banding. I want something sweeping, epic, ORCHESTRAL (not synth or electronic) and lushly melodic or theme driven. That is basically, everything that Zimmer can't do.

***, why would Bats only be a cameo? Doesn't make sense

Batsy should be a minor supporting figure. It should be 70 percent Clark's movie or something like that. I want a true sequel which happens to feature Batman.

James Horner? Howard Shore?

Not that it's worth discussing in a composer thread, but is 30 % really a cameo?

firstly i am sure they will want to use a different score, to show audience this is a new batman.
secondly, i doubt he will only be a cameo after the announcement is generating such buzz and with goyer saying the title could possible be 'Batman vs. Superman'. WB and DC will want to make a lot of money, if after day one the word gets out that Batman is only a cameo, sure superman fans will go but a large chunk of people wanting to see a batman/superman movie on screen at the same time will not go.

One thing you'll be able to surmise from Zimmer doing the score...it's going be great. I do hope he keeps that MOS theme around.

What I don't want: The usual Zimmer score.
What I want: A bold, fully orchestral score with themes. I wouldn't mind if Zimmer's material was used in the score, but properly arranged and developed fully.

For me, Bats will need his own, and supes will need his own, then one needs to be created for when they are both on screen together..its gonna be tricky.

( i'm assuming we will see both heroes kinda going solo before the big meet )

Maybe a new composer? not sure.

This.

I liked the MOS score but it was TOO dark. I want something lighthearted for Supes, something dark for Batman and something different for the team-up.

That's exactly what I want for Superman.

The way I see it, the first film was all about everything being dark and then in the next films things would slowly become positive and a brighter tomorrow occurs. So maybe we might get that?

Maybe more stuff along the lines of

compared to:

This seems to be the general consensus here. Although I do like Arcade as a cool song Superman flies into the final battle with. You know guys I was reading Kingdom Come the other day, I couldn't help but imagine the first song(What Are You Going To Do When You Are Not Saving The World? better known as Ideal of Hope) being played from about 2:35 onward as Superman saved everyone in this sequence here:

I think this is something we'd all like in future movies yes?

I loved flight, and arcade. both of those should be brought back.

Speaking of Scores, I saw Elysium yesterday.
Anybody else get an Inception vibe from that score?

How about Lex Luthor(assuming he's in the movie)? What kind of score would he have? No doubt Zimmer would do something different to Zod's theme.

Definitely, but it goes in a beautiful and entirely different direction in places. But it doesn't have much in the way of themes, and a similar approach wouldn't work for this movie.

I really wish Shirley Walker or Joel Goldsmith were still living. They could work absolute magic with Zimmer's material -- like weaving fragments of "Flight" and "Lasiurus" throughout the score. Then sparingly punctuated with triumphant, fully arranged statements during the climax. (Walker would handle Zimmer's material well, since she had worked with him in his early parts of his career.)

Also, I think David Arnold would really do something special with this movie. He'd also incorporate Zimmer's material too.

If Zimmer is coming back, which he probably will, I expect more of the same. I don't know what new material he'll come up with for Batman. This is ostensibly supposed to be a different take on Batman and so the music should sound different, but Zimmer is not exactly the most versatile composer out there.

If Hans Zimmer returns, I would love nothing more than for him to do the Williams Superman theme or something similar to TAS' Superman theme for Superman (just getting him on scores that are already written sounds quite good at times, case and point, the new Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer's score sounds 100 times better than James Horner's version, even though they're the "same" score/piece), and as for Batman, the ONLY way you can go is either the Danny Elfman score or the animates series score by Shirley Walker. Put Zimmer's ass on those if you have him back or get a new composer entirely and have him use those scores but rework them.

If they did just those scores like that, I wouldn't care if Justin Timberlake or Orlando Bloom were Batman and Superman, I would pay to watch that movie and I would enjoy the **** out of it.

Amazing Spiderman actually had a great theme by Horner. Listen to the first 1 minute and 50 seconds.

It was actually sweeping and heroic and inspiring and of course beautifully orchestrated. I wanted something like this for Supes, a proper theme, not just ****ing drums.

Superman as a character and sound was hopeful enough for me. The world around him and the situations he faced were darker, ala the ethereal ‘If You Love these People’ when Metropolis is at risk, ‘Tornado’ when Pa Kent gets sucked away, or the drama of Kal being sent away in ‘Launch’. I knew when the music related to Superman, ala the opening titles birth scene. Perhaps this will become more prominent in the sequel.

I loved Look to the Stars, What are you going to do when your not saving the world?, You Led Us Here, and If you Love These People (that one is my favorite.) Yes, Zimmer's music isn't hugely varied, but I like what he's done.
