What makes a Superman film for you?

A Superman film, for me, should be a film that carries a certain kind of charm to it. One of the reasons why Donner’s films are so memorable is because they have a magical quality to them. Superman shouldn’t feel like a typical Marvel Studios film.

IMO, a Superman film should hold nothing back. I’d like to see the cinematic equivalent of All Star Superman on screen: Big, bold, imaganitive, not afraid to use the characters entire history and not just post crisis. A Superman film should push the genre to new heights as Nolan’s Batman did.

For me, I’d like to see a Superman that acts a bit like the Siegel/Shuster, “Grant Morrison’s Action Comics” Superman. A good hearted person, but not a pushover. Can crack a sarcastic joke. As for Clark, as long as its not like the Dean Cain version where you basically cant tell the difference between Kent and Superman, fine. There should always be some sense of duality between the two identities.
