What other genres of films would you like to see in the MCU?

Kevin Feige said before that in order to keep the superhero movies fresh, they would incorporate other film genres into the MCU.

So Iron Man was a military thriller, Captain America was a war film, Iron Man 2 was a buddy movie, Winter Soldier was a political thriller, GOTG was a space opera, Ant-Man is a heist and Spider-Man is a John Hughes movie.

What other genres would you like to see tackled? What would work great as a juxtaposition of one genre and another?

I would like to see a cross between Indiana Jones and Romancing the Stone.

Since JW is winning this could be the perfect time to introduce the Savage Land. I've mentioned this before and hope that Marvel has the rights to characters like Sauron, Brainchild and Zaladane. Have the High Evolutionary run shop there with Kazar as the hero with ties to the Beyonders since one created it to begin with.

It's Tarzan, Jurassic Park, Temple of Doom, Skull Island, and Island of Doctor Monroe all rolled up in one!

And just about any MCU character could drop in there.

With Ghost Rider and Blade there's an opportunity to do action-horror.

If they every get FF back they could do a family comedy with action.

Dr. Strange could actually open that door the way Guardians opened the Cosmic Universe.

I rather hope there's a fair amount of international political intrigue(you don't even need Hydra in this one) in Black Panther's movie. Just a dollop of Paul Greengrass(I'm not saying he should direct the movie) in the film would go a long way to achieving this tone, IMO.

If Luke Cage and Iron Fist hadn't been set in the present day, they could've done a 70s Blaxploitation/ Kung Fu movie genre. Marvel have set characters in other decades before, so why not the 70s? I guess they could still stylise a team up movie for those two with many throwbacks to the 70s (including a 70s soundtrack), and also make it a buddy movie too.

Directed by Tarantino. :hrt:

If only Marvel owned Dazzler, then they could've actually made Dazzler the movie as originally intended. It could've been their first foray into musicals where the songs would actually figure into the plot. Imagine a musical rollerskating action movie. Might be a little like Starlight Express, but not too much.

I'll be completely honest, I've never even heard of Dazzler before A-Force. I'm not so sure about Marvel making a movie about a roller-skating superhero.

The movie was actually going to be made back in the late 70s/ early 80s and Dazzler the comic was the movie tie in. But the movie was shelved and Marvel were left with an original character so they incorporated her into other books and storylines as well as continuing her comic. So a movie now would have come full circle and would capitalize on the huge success of movies like High School Musical.

(you don't even need Hydra in this one)

Agreed. I'm kinda getting sick of HYDRA being the reason behind everything evil in the MCU. It's time to give another group of criminals their time to shine. I mean, AIM has been in just one movie so far, while HYDRA has been in three (soon to be four), as well as being featured prominently in AoS.

I would like to see a reintroduction of BLADE and bringing in the likes of MORBIUS for the horror genre.

There are plenty of other villainous organizations in the Marvel-U, I agree.

Horror
Pure sci fi
Fantasy/fairy tale
Mafia drama
Spy thriller
Romance
Sword-and-sandal - guess it's more likely in DCU due to some character(s)

I'd like to see a monster/horror film, preferably Werewolf By Night. A Hong Kong style Shang-Chi movie could also be fun.

Would love to see a proper Man-Thing movie.

Horror

would love a Blade and Ghost rider movie from Marvel

Since DD, Punisher and Elektra are all being redone, the likes of Blade and Ghost Rider must be on the horizon eventually.

I think Ghost Rider's best chance of happening is if Doctor Strange is a huge hit. I could see them introducing Johnny Blaze (or Danny Ketch) in a Strange film to gauge interest. I could easily see Blade happening on Netflix.

Vampire movie- Blade obviously
Horror suspense - Ghost Rider
Dark fantasy - Namor
Spy - Black Widow

I would also love a superhero musical film! That would be very new!

Along with a spy thriller, horror, dark fantasy, and kung fu movie, I'd love for them to do an action adventure movie in the same vein as Indiana Jones or the first Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

I'd like to see all of these, but odds are that The Inhumans will corner the Dark Fantasy market first. Namor is tougher nut to crack in a stand alone film otherwise Universal would've been on it by now. He xould make a great Antihero/supporting character in someone else's film for starters and since He's always had a thing for blonds (Sue Storm and Emma Frost) Ms Marvel comes to mind.

Fox could channel that through Dazzler, but if anything like that is being thrown around in board meetings they'll likely get cold feet and nix it if/when Jem flops.

Now if Dazzler were a Marvel character (LOL I can't help it!) I could see her getting a Frozen esk animated film with a possible Frozen cameo!
