So it looks like Cillian Murphy will be back and playing the wonderful role of Scarecrow. What part do you all think he will play in the plot development of the film? I hope he gets a big part.

Highly doubt this part when you have The Joker in the film as well, Scarecrow will probably play some small role in the plot

I'm guessing that Scarecrow's men and The Joker's men will go at it to prove who runs Gotham.

Scarecrow might possibly be in the opening of the movie only. So we get a big action sequence to open the film. I think something like that would be awesome.

Does anyone else think the fact that Scarecrow being in the movie could be a spoiler?

I had a theory about the Scarecrow. Lets for a minute assume that Joker was one of the arkham goons that was released in BB. Gordan said that they have yet to capture all the inmates and that they were running around. Now time to remind you that Scarecrow was the Doctor in charge of Arkahm and abused his patients. I believe that Joker called him out to offer some help or in the guise of an alliance (something along those lines).
When Scarecrow meets them he probably turns on Scarecrow and returns the abuse that he received while he was at Arkham. I think Scarecrow in turn will have a minor role but there to show how Joker has become twisted.

It is a spoiler, for thoese who didn't want to know:o

Thus them being in the Non-Spoiler section. I already had read this but I'm sure some other unsuspecting soul might not appreciate being told this.

Maybe Joker was one of Crane's patients in the ward that busted out when Batman went through there in BB.

Joker could've been one of Crane's patients on which the fear gas had little effect, so he kept upping the dose/strength of it, trying to break him...but it just made him more of a nutjob. Like the first time Crane uses the gas on him (in flashback) and puts on the Scarecrow mask...there's a pause as the patient clears his sinuses, and he just starts laughing hysterically at the mask and making fun of him. Could be a funny moment, but a cryptic one as well.

They end up working together, but Joker remembers everything and at some point turns the tables, torturing Crane in a mock psyche session, using the fear gas as part of it. Could be a good oppportunity to do some really wild visual/hallucination stuff with the Joker face. Might even be a good way of introducing the Joker as 'the Joker', once his face becomes the way it is...with him taking off Crane's Scarecrow mask to reveal his own gharish face...then it turns into a horrific hallucination as the gas takes effect. Maybe.

I hope he only has a small part. About the same amount of screentime as in BB if not less. I hope we see him in full getup

Hey I said that, eh oh well

Sorry...I don't spend a whole lot of time here so I didn't read back through other threads. Didn't mean to be redundant. Could be cool...but now I hope they don't do something like that because anyone who read it wouldn't be surprised by it. :csad:

Ya i know what you mean I am kinda bummed I thought of that.

So that was what you thought too? Patient resistant to fear gas...even the mask and the gas/hallucination? Heh-heh...that's funny...there are no original ideas anymore. :oldrazz: Could be cool, and maybe get Scarecrow out of the way relatively early so he doesnt' weigh down the plot too much.

EDIT: Just saw your post below...whoops, I thought you were referring to another thread. Again, sorry if I was redundant, i don't really read through these things as much as I should.

So...let's say that Joker (or whoever he was beforehand) was chemically, or even mentally, resistant to the nerve gas. What was interesting in BB was that the nerve gas hit Crane, and at first he seemed freaked out by Bats, but he was able to recognize that it was the gas and was somewhat amused by its effects. With Joker, though...I guess he would be truly afraid of him because he knows him as the one patient he couldn't break, which basically strips Crane of his power and shatters his demented ego. That's why I see the gas being more effective on Crane than before with Batman, because he does have a deep-seeded fear of Joker from their prior history...call it more Freudian, or what have you.

But something like this could be too 'Scarecrow-centric' for some who prefer the more traditional comic-based history of the Joker, whatever that may be....or don't want to spend too much time in the next movie on Joker origins. We'll see. I think Nolan, Goyer, & company will come up with something interesting and original.

Maybe Scarecrow will help the Joker develop the laughing gas.

This is from another post on IMDB I said. The fear gas was a hallucinogen, the laughing gas is not well as far as I am aware. Unless this was Fear and Loathing in Gotham (We can't stop here this is BAT country!) I find it very unlikely that Joker would be using the fear powder stuff.

.....And your point is?

I merely stated that Crane might be helping the Joker develop the laughing gas. I never said it had to come from the fear gas.

Well my point was I felt it was very unlikely using the fear powder stuff. Also I needed a way to sneak the fear and loathing quote, but seriously I my conclusion was drawn from what I said above. It is possible that Joker had crane develop a laughing gas, but I think his main goal is to get revenge.

He's going to yell, "PAT-A-CAKE! PAT-CAK-CAKE!" at Madhatter. ...don't know why that little exchange has always cracked me up.

Good one King ruler but I also think with the Scarecrow its the chance for us to see the Arkham again. The Scarecrow has something to do with how the new Rachel looks.

Did he cut her hair or something?

Also I needed a way to sneak the fear and loathing quote,

Don't remember who said it, but I remember that comment that because I was the only one that caught it! What's your screen name over there, mine's the same.
