In the history of cartoons, comics, and television there ware some things that are suitable to make great movies. But there are some that should never see the light of the Silver Screen. Share with me which movies based of a book, a comic, a graphic-novel, a cartoon, a tv show, that you think should never have been or is being made into a movie.

Like Inspector Gadget. It was a terrible movie that was trying to hard to be like the cartoon yet funny for the kids.

Twitlight.

Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

Finally someone who agrees. Twilight was a failure to me. Then again I hate anything Twilight related *dodges thrown objects form Twilight fans*

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

This covers too much ground to list, doesn't it? :oldrazz: But I digress. Most of the movies I don't think should ever be allowed to be made are compromises, since at this point it obviously would be too much to ask Hollywood to NOT make them:

* Movies based on old TV sitcoms. Emphasis on SITCOMS. Making "Lost In Space" into a movie wasn't a bad idea; IMO, it just wasn't executed very well; and of course, "The Fugitive" ran on Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. On the other hand, were movie audiences around the world REALLY screaming out for a film version of "Car 54, Where Are You?"? IMO the only time a big-movie-version-of-an-old-sitcom thing worked was with the first two Addams Family movies. No more, please.

* For that matter, movies based on old cartoons that existed solely to play for laughs and were slapsticky. If I was gonna be making movies based on Hanna-Barbera properties, enough with trying to milk The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo - what about Space Ghost? The Herculoids? Even Jonny Quest would at least give you more to work with than talking dogs and household appliances made out of rock and powered by little dinosaurs inside.

* Movies based on toys and games and etc. that normally would not outwardly give the impression of making a good movie at all. Seriously, MONOPOLY?!?

Star Wars episodes 1, 2 AND 3 ...........

They just get worse with each passing year.

Why dont you cry about it?

But I've got to agree with you on Napoleon Dynamite. That movie was pure ****.

Any of the "Something" Movies. Disaster, Date, Epic, etc.

I saw this thread and thought "Hmm, I wonder how long it'll take for some asshat to say Watchmen." Four posts in. Way to be predictable, SHH.

Joel Schumacher.
1) despite B&R, he's made some good movies and some of them are quite dark and gritty.

2) if Schumacher didn't muck up the Batman franchise we might not have ever gotten Batman Begins and the Dark Knight.

I have to completely agree. He made many films I really liked (The Lost Boys, Flatliners, Falling Down, The Client, A Time to Kill, 8 MM, Tigerland)
