I think they're saving Spidey for a post-credit scene to surprise the **** out of all of us.
TASM2 got beat out in its second week by an R rated comedy and they are gonna compete with Fox, DC, and Marvel Studios?
Yea. Sinister Six is not happening not is TASM3. You ****ed up Sony and now you will pay the consequences.
Keep the dream of Sony making another good Spider-Man movie alive, I'm sure it will pay off like May 2nd, 2014 did.yeah just like today the big announcement today was spider-man... oh wait!
keep that dream alive!! i am sure it will pay off like today did
This is a new age of superhero movies.Keep the dream of Sony making another good Spider-Man movie alive, I'm sure it will pay off like May 2nd, 2014 did.
It's sad that you'd rather see the franchise slowly kill itself in Sony's hands rather than where it belongs.Even if if you wanted to look at it that way its probably more likely sony could get lucky with another movie then spider-man turning up in a surprise cameo to surprise the fans, just like marvels big announcement being held just for spider-man which people felt thats all i could be
Spider-Man's worst reviewed movie fall behind Marvel Studio's 3rd best reviewed movie, that had an Avengers boost by 8m (world wide).
If Marvel is smart, they'll incorporate another hero in the movie. Thor is definitely the weakest link so far. They need to juice that movie up, which is why they're going with Ragnorak. We're comparing the one of the three most popular heroes to GOTG, Iron Man 3, Cap 2, and Avengers which outgrossed TASM2.
Thor 3 will outgross TASM2. Thor's stock went up from Thor 1 to Thor 2. Spidey's stock went down from TASM to TASM2.

Let's take Sony's struggle with the franchise into consideration. The declining domestic box office, the decline in quality (as per reviews) and all the other things Sony has going for them. Sony's only option is to sell back to Marvel, it'll happen eventually.the fantasy of spider-man in the MCU will be alot more interesting then what the reality of it will be.
there are plenty of factors to take into consideration, unless you choose to ignore them

The alternative is Sony pictures go broke with their death grip on Spidey. Then the MCU will come pry him off their cold dead fingers for a steal. Disney always wins.
I think ASM3 will be okay if Sinister Six blows people away. That would generate hype for an already popular character/franchise. But if Sinister Six is meet with indifference or worst ridicule I think the Spider-Man franchise is ****ed.
S6 would have to be amazing, no pun intended, to "blow people away." By amazing, I mean a film of excellent quality and/or a rolling good time. And although that is a possibility, I have zero faith in that actually happening. The fact that Goddard is directing and writing (I think) the movie is the only ray of light at the moment. But let's not kid ourselves, Arad and Tolmach are still producing this so who knows what awesome new developments they'll throw into the mix. That last part was sarcasm.
Not their only option? Right, because what they're doing right now is going to save that franchise. It's only a matter of time before S6 and TASM 3 get thrown in the garbage with Venom.it certainly isn't their only option at all
so would marvel buy spider-man for 2 billion to save sonys ass or let them go bankrupt and indeed get it back for nothing?

we haven't heard anything from sony about sinister six. I doubt they are still doing it.
Besides Goddard, what exactly makes people excited about S6? Spidey isn't even confirmed. They haven't set up all the villains yet. The protagonist would have to be BC or some anti-hero if it's not Spidey, and nobody character can carry that mantle besides Spidey. A movie about villains doesn't work. A movie about villains becoming good guys? Is that really what they are going for with S6? I just don't understand who the threat would even be? "Time to take over New York City guys... and Spiderman will be in it for 10 minutes to try and stop us."
Please explain to me what would even get people excited for S6 without Spidey as the lead character?
