What song best represents Batman???

Night Prowler by AC/DC, it reminds of Batman's stealth aspect and the fact that He operates at night.

Not to sure about Batman, but everytime I hear Queens of the StoneAge's "Battery Acid", I think of The Joker. The lyrics don't really do it for me, but just the way the song flows.

Very Joker-esque. ;)

This should be about all of Batman's characters. You'll probably have more to discuss and share, other then just talking about 'ol Batsy. ;)

Oh, I just thought of one for Batman! I think Kashmir by Led Zeppelin has a very Batman tone to it. Again, nothing with the lyrics, just vibe. :)

Storming Fort Wagner from the soundtrack to the movie "Glory"

If this song doesn't give you goosebumps, you have brain damage.

i remember someone made a vid of batman begins to the tune of "The Noose" by A perfect circle, it fit the vid and Batman well

For the Joker.....Joker Face by Lady Gaga.

why the hell must everyone associate batman and co. with hardcore/heavy metal/whatever?

Because for some reason, most nerds listen to metal, "trendy intellectuals" listen to indie, thugs listen to rap, pretentious snobs listen to opera, and people with no taste in music listen to the radio/MTV. The majority of people on these boards are nerds who like comics books, so it'll be more metal.

Not saying you can't like a mix of genres, but that's normally the outcome. ;)

so, what am i since i listen to rock and roll?

No offense to you, but this isn't the 40's and 50's. Define what "Rock and Roll" is to you, as metal, indie, punk, classic rock, alternative, etc derive from the "Rock and Roll" source. I guess I should say what bands do you like listening to the most, or what era do like?

rock and roll has been around for how many decades, and i need to define it?! no offense, but isnt that a little ridiculous? but no, i get what your saying, its just a result of people going label crazy with music now a days. as if nothing is rock and roll anymore, but rather just these bastard off shoots of the genre. but requiring further definition of rock and roll seems ridiculous to me, as i believe its been far best defined by the hundreds of musicians who have waved its banner over the past many decades....so this could only result in a ridiculous answer....which im more than happy to supply. i'll try to be brief, despite how much it's gonna pain me to leave out so many deserving artists:

i suppose one cant truly appreciate rock and roll, or music in general, without respecting and understanding its roots. in the case of rock and roll we'd be talking about folk, blues, and country. specifically artists such as robert johnson, leadbelly, son house, muddy waters, john lee hooker, howlin' wolf, hank williams, woody guthrie, bo diddley, johnny cash, loretta lynn, etc. this was followed by artists such as chuck berry and little richard, who took influence from these roots, kicked up the tempo, and rock and roll was given a sound. generally considered "negro music", rock and roll made a breakthrough with white audiences with artists such as elvis presley, buddy holly, and jerry lee lewis. in the early 60's, a soulful side of rock was coming out of detroit with barry gordy's motown sound, producing such acts like smokey robinson and the miracles, the supremes, and the temptations. the american kids were digging this, but the brits dug it more. they dug it so much, that they copied it and sold it right back to us, and suddenly we had a british invasion on our shores featuring some of the all time greats such as the beatles, the animals, the yardbirds, the kinks, the who, the rolling stones, etc. but thats not to say american bands werent capitalizing. i mean, with cats like bob dylan doing his thing, along with the beach boys, the USA still had a say in rock and roll. especially if you were to look to the american underground music scene, you'd find bands like the sonics, the velvet underground, MC5, and the stooges not only redefining what rock and roll can be, but paving the future road by creating such genre's like punk rock. which drops us in early 70's NY where bands like the ramones, the NY dolls, and patti smith bash out a raw sound that was immediately influenced by iggy and the stooges (the godfather of punk). meanwhile, back in the mainstream, jimi hendrix is putting clapton out of business, and led zeppelin is filling the void left by the beatles break up. suddenly, marc bolen and t.rex are glamming up the idea of rock and roll, and david bowie's ziggy stardust alter ego are thrust into the pseudo bi-sexual hearts of the world's youth. sadly, a bloated rock and roll limps into the 80's after the eagles' attempt at destroying it. an underground punk scene is the only thing keeping it somewhat alive as its faltering stumble leads it into the 90's, perhaps with help from the gories, who's subtle presence will influence a string of bands that will eventually lead to the white stripes giving hope to a rock and roll revolution. but before we even find ourselves in the new millennium, lets not leave out torchbearers such as the mummies who's primal underground beat harkened back to the good ol' days of rock for a modern youth. and i suppose we should not disregard the seattle grunge scene that took the radio waves by storm (not my personal bag, but it shouldnt be discounted). but back to the present, the white stripes are pretty much the only band of this generation to be purveying the purest idea of rock and roll in the mainstream, which happened by sheer dumb luck. and while rock and roll may not exist in a mainstream that seems to crave hollow labels such as "indie" and "alternative", a strong rock and roll presence thrives in the underground with bands such as the black lips (who have had some break through success), the go, the hentchmen, movie star junkies, the kills, and countless others.

so where do i fit now?

I tend to agree with you there with the "label crazy", but that's just like saying, "why does everybody like metal here", when you just labeled an off shoot of what I think is apart of "rock and roll", even if it doesn't adhere to your common definition. ;)

Labels are needed nowadays, as there is more musicians created different avenues of expression, which have to labeled/defined, or every genre is just "music", when we know for a fact that there are different styles. Anyways, I'll come back in a few hours, as I'm on my porch sippin on a cold one, and chillin on a cigar. I can tell you're a music fan, which will be fun to talk to you about. Again, I'll be back to answer more... :yay:

no, im fine with sensible, labels and off shoot genres of rock. but when oyu have a label such as indie rock, which doesnt even describe the music, yet the bands recording label status, thats just stupid. or even "alternative rock", which pretty much means...uh, instead of rock...which is just stupid because, heh, who wants an alternative to rock?

i get that, there are more styles of music and sound than ever before, and again, im fine with sensible labels. but theres just so much stupid hollow attempts to define things, most of which dont even define anything.

ha ha, fair enough. and no pressure on actually supplying me with a serious answer, i wasnt really needing one. im just having fun...and being a little bit of a music d!ck, ha ha.

p.s. mad props to the late 60's flower child scene that i some how left out of my diatribe. big brother and the holding company, joplin, jefferson airplane, i love it.
