tl;dr at the bottom

we're just about in the middle of the 8th generation.

What kind of stuff do you want to see a Ps5/Xbox Two potentially capable of? The most innovating thing that comes to mind on Ps4 now is shareplay, and on Xbone it's snap and I suppose the 4K blu ray player. Not really innovative, but still a necessary feature.

I've been using Spotify a lot when playing online matches of Rocket League and Uc4 so one feature I think would be really really cool, is

-if for a game like Rocket League, on Ps5 when you use Spotify if it's still around when Ps5 comes out, when playing your music, make it sound like the song is playing in the stadiums themselves...I feel like that'd feel so immersive.

-The Dualshock 5 controller...it should be an LED touchpad that turns into a keyboard when you need to type something. That'd be pretty convenient instead of a keyboard that shows up on your screen

-if crossplay finally fxckin becomes a thing, I think the friendship system should be integrated for you to have friends on XBL, Steam, etc. Come on Sony, stop being arrogant.

-if RAM is bigger next time around, make it so that you can start and have a few softwares, (be it games, Netflix/Youtube, etc) all running simultaneously and not having to close them all.

-backwards compatibility. this should be easy considering the hardware in Ps4 is much easier for the devs to look at then it was for Ps3. and there's already BC on Xbone.

that's all off the top of my head. What do you think?

One thing I definitely want to be a focus is prioritizing 60 fps over resolution. I'm perfectly happy playing a game at 1080p/1440p (if it can handle it) and 60 fps over 4k and 30 fps.

I agree on fps. Frame rate means more to me than resolution every time, especially if we're talking shooters or fighting games.

that's true, I have to admit no matter what the game is it's pretty much always more enjoyable if it's 60fps

PUBG looks like ass, but I'm happier when that game plays at a high frame rate than I am playing it on the highest graphics.

Someone saw the dojo ova. :hehe:

I'd like it for the PS5 controller to remain the same as the PS4.

PS5:

1. Must match and exceed the specs and power of the X1 X.

2. Must include an above average 4K player.

3. Must have BC with at least PS4 games.

4. Better battery life for the DS(5?) controller. No more silly light bar that's not even really used outside of VR. And ditch the touchpad if you aren't going to fully utilize that for UI navigation or for games. Most of the time, the touchpad is just used as a giant "select" button to bring up menus.

5. Needs to be a better all-around multi-media machine like the PS3 was.

Next Xbox:

1. Must avoid the mistakes of the initial focus of the Xbox One. The focus needs to be on games first and foremost.

2. Must improve the game install/download process. Namely, it needs to be able to download the game update and game install at the same time, like the PS4 can do. Also, like the PS4, it needs to get to "ready to play" state much faster.

3. Must have stronger true exclusives lineup ( beyond the Halos, Gears, Forzas ).

I agree on a higher frame rate. 60 FPS is

if the Ps5 is only at "must match" with the Xbone X it's practically just a half step

It’s gonna be way ahead of the X. Makes no sense to bother otherwise, may as well keep going with the Pro.

I know everyone loves sequels but I would love some new IPs. Something that defines the generation. Starting that in the early stages of a new console cycle is the best time to do it I reckon

At this point, I don't really care about features.

I just want the great games with amazing experiences to keep coming.
