Now that you have seen the film; and, have seen both side make very compelling arguments to support their perspective view...whose team are you on now & why?

Team Cap. The accords basically make you a villain, if you want to try to help, but the pencil pushers say no.

Still Team Cap, can't wait Black Phanter movie maybe with Cap as cameo like Spidey in Civil War

Team IM, cuz he's got all the cool Avengers like Vision, Black Panther and SPIDER-MAN!!!!

I voted switch to team Iron Man from being Team Neutral initially. Tony Stark was the good guy of this story.

Tony's argument can be summarized with how Scarlet Witch looks in the raft.

It was always a very one sided argument.

I'm team Cap before going in based on my own instincts. We shall see tonight after I watch the movie if I change my mind. ;)

I'm torn between being team Cap, and being team Thor; as away from the issue as possible.

Steve's argument can be summarized with all the dead bodies in Lagos.

Came in Team Tony and left even stronger on Team Tony's side.

Team Cap before I saw the movie and Team Cap after I saw the movie

Yes, and now that Ironman signed the accords, things like civilian casualties are a thing of the past. There's always a chance for the unfortunate death of civilians. Them having to listen to the UN now, doesn't change that. If anything, it could increase the loss of lives, because the UN tells the Avengers not to interfere. Or worse, have the same crazy ass plan as the Council, and decide to drop a nuke instead, which I could see them try against Thanos. Potentially killing millions of innocents in the process.

Like Steve said, the accords change nothing. They only shift the blame. Had Cap listened to his superiors in the first Movie, all the soldiers in the Hydra Prison Camp would have probably been killed.

Pretty much.

Before the movie I was Team Cap, but now I'm Team Iron Man.

If the Avengers keep doing whatever they want and ignore international law, eventually the people will turn against them and they WILL be villains. Just look at how America's unilateral interventions are viewed internationally.

Public sentiment is already souring against the Avengers in this movie. They have to think about how it looks if they flat-out declare to the world that they refuse to listen to anybody but themselves.

And who's to say their way of doing things is always the best way? How much property damage did they cause in this movie trying to fight their way to Siberia, only to find out they were wrong about Zemo releasing the super soldiers? If they'd followed the Accords, they wouldn't even have been there and the airport fight would never have happened.

A well known poster on the Hype, made a very compelling argument...that I can't share because it's full of spoilers. Some of you may know or read what I'm speaking of. I have not seen the film yet; will see it tomorrow...at that time, I will find out exactly how compelling his argument is. It was good though....very good. Wow.

How would the registration help in Lagos? It was a planned assault by Crossbones, which Zemo had hired.

Zemo would have done worse to have them in Siberia. He could even free the other soldiers if necessary. He didn't give a **** anymore to what was happening.

The airport scene was miscommunication. Steve wanted to talk to Tony about the soldiers, but Sam thought he wouldn't believe in them. If Steve had said to Tony, maybe Tony would help him to go to Siberia.
Steve tells him at the airport, but Tony doesn't believe in him. He wants to take Steve and Bucky to Ross.

Another thing, Tony was shocked by what they did with the other Avengers. He said that prison is for maniacs. The accords were good on paper, but he didn't know what was going to happen.
The accords would not work because you see that the Widow broke it helping Steve.
They could sign the accords, but they always would find a way to break the rules.

Team Cap!

Team cap. Technically even Iron Man moved over to team cap.

This thread is for those that have seen the film so spoil away.

Well, she killed loads of people, even though it was an accident, so why shouldn't she have been in prison? If they knew Crossbones was going to be there they could have tipped off the military and picked up their vans outside of town - it was the Avengers that chose (with no authority in that country) to engage them in a VERY public area surrounded by people. They weren't even "supervillains", just mercenaries that Cap had beef with, and he's running operations on foreign soil to stop them, with no permission or authority there.

I've been in two minds, but I'm leaning to Team Iron-Man.

By the end, Iron-Man is Ross' little ****** on speed-dial, and anyone who was against them is in prison, so Cap was right about that and Iron-man knows it.

BUT

With Zemos motivations clear at the end... EVERYTHING was about Sokovia. Every action, every death, the death of T'Chakka, it was all just fallout from Sokovia. Not a thing happens in this entire movie that isn't indirectly caused by the Avengers and/or their irresponsibility and failures in AOU.

Maybe I'm just a different kind of cat, but it never got to a point where the movie was layered enough where I felt compelled to pick a side. I just watched for the sake of watching as a fan for the most part.

Still team cap, eventhough i cheer for both teams during the airport battle.
