What the hell is this bug???

Can anyone tell me what this bug is? It was flying around my house this morning and the things freaking huge! I thought it was a hornet at first but the pics ive looked at look nothing like this.

Im only asking as i dont want to wake up in the middle of the night with it sucking my face!

P.s im from England so the most i know about bugs are ladybirds

I do live pretty close to there yeah


I found out what it is anyway, Wood Wasp and it says they live in coniferous woods. which we have none, anywhere near, still looks werid and needs to be hit with a spade or shot
