Think about how beneficial it would be to the story.

Think how great this movie could be, if Mask of the Phantasm was used as inspiration. The Joker would have the chance to live up to all of his potential. The Phantasm would be great even as side-villain for Nolan's vision.

Joker even came equipped with the classic hat when talking with the Councilman.

I really loved the love story aspect in Mask of the Phantasm.. While i'll give you Andrea, I have to say there is only one woman that I want to see in Nolan's Batman movies.... and that is..............

Talia......

^Affirmative.

I'd want to see Talia as well, but I'd only hope that the right actress was chosen to play her.

Phantasm was a cartoon villain. The only things that made her cool is that she was an ex-love of Bruce's and she appeared to be Supernatural, I dont think that fits with the new movies at all.... keep Phantasm in Mask of the Phantasm please.

Phantasm is far from supernatural, she just appears to be. She'd actually work pretty well for a dark Batman film. I'd imagine seeing a grim reaper-like figure emerging from the smoke would be a haunting image in live-action.

I wouldn't mind if Andrea were to come in. Though I can't help but think Rachel has already taken up that "friends pre-Batman" spot.

Oh god yes! Let's put a surprise twist in the movie that EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS

Sorry I don't like this idea even though I did like Phantasm.

I don't think it'll work for a one huge reason.

Bruce has already decided to be Batman. He's discovered his destiny, and has taken a head first leap into it.

The purpose Andrea served was essentially what a few things in Batman Begins served as well. Like Bruce about to kill Chill, or Bruce nearly siding with the League of Shadows....and hell, to an extent...Rachel served the same purpose as well. Andrea was essentially, another path in Bruce's life that could have been. Another option in his life before he would ultimately choose to be Batman. We had a few of those in BB.

So, having Andrea....well, she'd kinda lose her purpose and what made her such a stand out character in MOTP......Bruce has chosen his destiny. So, really....there'd be no point in having her in TDK.

Its already been done perfectly in MOTP why do it again?

Or...hey, why not just use the character that the writers ripped off to make The Phantasm in the first place? The Reaper from YEAR TWO.

Instead of the Joker?

Even if the reaper would be a lower villian to him in a movie, your better off re-using Scarecrow, Zasz or Ra's.....or even going to another one in Bat's rouge.

Yes, the same 2% that make up the film's total viewers. :o

I agree that the role has already been filled by Rachel in Begins.

But at the same time, I personally wouldn't mind if her character was brought in; maybe do the past story similar but fundamentally differently than in MOTP.

I don't want a carbon live-action copy of MOTP. That would be bordering on sacralidge, since MOTP is such a great movie.

All I'm saying, is maybe TDK could use inspiration from the greatness thereof. Borrow things, but mold differently. Mold differently, but stay true to the tone, and still maintain uniqueness as a movie.

I would not mind a Phantasm-type role. They have it in all the classic Bat-stories of recent years: Hush, Holiday, etc.

If the killer turns out to be Rachel...that's cool too.

Save that type of story for a Loeb written Batman movie - he has prefected the craft.

Plus Loeby now has God like status in my book thanks to Heroes

Then why the **** do it again? No one-shot villains should be used, regardless of continuity. Any villain who appeared for only a single, specific story shouldn't be put into the movies. Holiday, Hangman, Phantasm, probably even Hush although they did bring him back once or twice. I'd much rather see actual members of the Rogues Gallery.

i would love to see andrea, but selina more but i would love andrea even as a small cameo, played my mcadams

You know what Hyper? When you're right I'll defned you, but when you're wrong, the gloves come off. :D

I *loved* MOTP. But Andrea Beaumont, to my knowledge, has never existed in any other Batman story. It's a great Batman movie but why revisit it? I want Nolan to do his own thing. I didn't mind when Burnett, Radomski and Timm made up Andrea Beaumont, I didn't mind when Nolan and Goyer made up Rachel Dawes.

Each of them did their own thing and did it incredibly well. Well, I don't want Nolan to rip off Bruce Timm, and I know Nolan wouldn't do that, because, well, he's too good to do that.

Who says that's a surprise twist? It's about as much of a surprise as Bruce becoming Batman. There's a big difference between Harvey's transformation into Two-Face and the SECRET identity of a villain. Phantasm's identity was a surprise twist, Harvey's transformation was not.

Well to be fair I don't think the mainstream audience would recognize Harvey to be a future villain. Not many, if any, know Two-Face's real name, much less he was a former good guy.

I'd agree. Some people might know.

But, media outlets would let everyone know anyways.
