Still reeling from the events of season 3
(Hasn't even been 24 hours yet)
What can we look forward to?
Who will be Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D?
Who's the new director?
Why did Coulson Step down?
Why did Daisy leave S.H.I.E.L.D
LMD's?
What direction are they going?

So many questions, this is just the start.
Looking forward to this coming season actually.

I have a dumb question actually.

The end seemed to indicate that Radcliffe and FitzSimmons had been working together. On the one hand he is using old SHIELD designs and I believe he calls them agents, but then again after the whole primatives debacle I can't see SHIELD welcoming him in with open arms. But he is definitely working for SHIELD now, right?

Also, I'd love for Joey and Yoyo to return. I grew really fond of those two really quickly (and Yoyo and Mack were pretty cute together) so I'm hoping they don't get written out.

I want Hellfire back, they kept him alive and was under sway so he did nothing wrong.

More focus on Fitz, May, Coulson, Jemma, and Mack and less on Daisy, hopefully.

I imagine Bobbi and Hunter come back too since their show didn't get picked up.

hal could be in season 4, the friend near by who owns the pet store.

another question is shield after her because she is awol or because she is a vigilantee? different directions depending on which.

in fairness to him an ex member of the world security council died in coulsons custody, rathliffs bit at the end suggests there are hearings taking place, how is the existance of primitives expained with out explaining the existance of shield, bringing hive back to the planet, capturing him, releasing the primative strain in the base, the american army having to retake the base. fair enough they sent hive into space but still a lot of explaining to do, can see how he would get a demotion.

I'm hoping the Secret Warriors are back (and get completed, including Hellfire and hopefully Eden Fesi, at a minimum).

I'm looking forward to the new status quo with SHIELD and who the director is.

I'm hoping they can incorporate the Most Wanted pilot into the season (with maybe another episode or two to complete the story) and save some money in the budget towards something else (I don't know if that's realistic, but I hope it's the case).

Some of the follow up interviews with the show runners seems to indicate that they will look at tying up some of the loose ends regarding Quinn, Graviton, and probably Deathlok. I'd definitely like to see Hellfire and Deathlok as part of the Secret Warriors.

Any links? :yay:

Eden Fesi was teased, so he'll probably join
Creel might or might not
Sebastian Druid will probably show up and join to tie in with Doctor Strange
Since we're doing synthetic people, LMDs, cybernetic enhancements, etc. anyway apparently, Deathlok could get an upgrade
I'm still thinking ADA is a genderswapped ADAM (Machine Teen)
Hopefully wrap up Graviton

AIDA is apparently a Squadron Sinister reference. I find it highly unlikely they'll appear, but I'm just throwing that out.

I mostly want a sign that they are aware that the show is trouble and want to take action to save it from cancellation.

While the movies will not address the tv show, there is no reason to not immerse the show in the movie universe. It worked really well with The Winter Soldier. The movies will mostly be avoiding the issues of Civil War/The Accords for the next 4 years. Sharon Carter has NOTHING to do until after Infinity War is over, outside of a potential throw-away movie cameo (in one episode you could do two stories of her being investigated for her actions during Civil War, then joining SHIELD and a flashback story of Peggy being investigated for her war record and then joining SHIELD...wrapping up the Agent Carter story while getting Sharon as a member of AoS). Maybe Deathlok can be initially used as a tool of the Accords who hunts down Inhumans who refuse to sign...maybe even have him change his mind during a mission where he is supposed to capture Hawkeye's family (don't tell me that whoever played Hawkeye's wife and kids are too big to be on tv). Bring Mockingbird and Hunter back in (heck, have them initially act as bodyguards for Simon Williams, to give Nathan Fillion a guest starring role in an episode and tie in to Guardians 2). Maria Hill can be the new director. Maybe Daisy can get back with her dad because the government would want to talk with him. If SHIELD is rogue and not being financed the government or Tony Stark, perhaps Norman Osborn can be funding them. Bring in at least one KNOWN comic character as a permanent member.

Just spitballing ideas there...the point is that I want the show to FEEL like they care. In fact...maybe even title the season Agents of SHIELD: Reconstruction (since Reconstruction came after the Civil War).

Totally loving your ideas. I just hope if they do can shield after this season that my favorite cast members one day cameo or guest star in some of the movies. I'd love to see the newly single stark flirt with agent may

I would prefer to see more separation from the movie-verse rather than additional immersion. The thing that worked so well for the Netflix shows is that they stand on their own two feet. Sure, they reference the big green guy, but they operate in a different sphere than what we are seeing in the films. AOS has been hurt more than helped by being an MCU spinoff, imo.

I'm sure that when Spider-man will be out, we will see the same kind of comment for the Netflix show.
"Where was DD/the Punisher/Iron Fist/etc?"

Maybe even before, with Luke Cage and Iron Fist show.
"Where is Spider-man ?"

But I guess the Netflix show will add some Spider-man's easter eggs in newspaper to show his presence indirectly in the Queens.

It isn't a big deal, that the Avengers aren't in aos, and we can find plenty of justifications.
It's like in the comics.

So I guess the next season will air after Doctor Strange - I wonder if there will be an enhanced person weilding magic - someone like Druid?

The season likely debuts in late September, while Dr. Strange has a November premiere.

When a show's ratings are tanking and it is facing cancellation...you don't double down on what isn't working. Daredevil is NOT kept apart from superheroes....he IS a superhero. Punisher is one of the most well-known comic characters in the Marvel library. Agents May, Fitz and Simmons are neither.

Besides, it really doesn't make much sense if the show moves forward dealing with Inhumans every week yet somehow the Sokovia Accords aren't an issue. Deathlok ABSOLUTELY would either sign the Accords and work within that system or become a hunted man. Sharon Carter has NOWHERE to be in the MCU for the next 4 years or so if she isn't moved into Agents of SHIELD. Some of this stuff just makes sense.

The Netflix shows are great, but they are streaming for a reason. ABC didn't want them. Just like CBS didn't want Supergirl. Adding known superheroes or more awkward one-way tie ins arent cure alls for AOS.

The teaser for next year seems promising, and if ratings hold I could see it squeaking to 100 episodes with an abbreviated fifth year. That ain't a bad result for Marvel's first live action TV show.

It's not awkward if its handled right. The Agents of SHIELD operate in a world that includes the Sokovia Accords...and their main task deals directly with the type of people who would either sign the Accords or be hunted down. It is consistent with that world to fill out the story that a 2 hour movie can't tell us. It is awkward for it to NOT be a huge issue.

I don't recall hearing that the netflix shows were ever pitched to ABC. I know shopped Jessica Jones around for a while but that was before the Disney deal. I get the feeling when they knew they wanted to make these shows they went directly to Netflix/FX/AMC instead of basic networks.

While your scenario seems more probable (i.e., he's working for SHIELD), alternatively maybe Fitz isn't working for SHIELD anymore. We don't know why Coulson was demoted, why Daisy left, and who else might have left.
Regarding Yoyo, they're not deploying her to catch Daisy, even though she'd be a great asset. Maybe she's not working for SHIELD anymore, either, and season 4 is in part about getting some agents back on the team.

Thing is - is SHIELD even still around? Based on the finale and flash forward, I wouldn't be surprised if SHIELD has (at that point) been disbanded after their HQ got wrecked; perhaps with Coulson and Mack now working for the ATCU, the Secret Warriors either having gone rogue on disbanded altogether, and FitzSimmons working with Radcliffe.

I suspect some of that is true. Although my guess is SHIELD still exists, it just works for the ATCU now. I agree about the Secret Warriors having gone rogue or disbanded. Fitz, Simmons, and Radcliffe could be independent, although my viewing of that scene was that he was now working for SHIELD/ATCU.

It would be weird to start Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with S.H.I.E.L.D. not existing anymore. I think S.H.I.E.L.D. is still operating under the guise of the ATCU, but Coulson had to give up his position in exchange for secret funds from the government (or something equally important). Don't forget that S.H.I.E.L.D. is technically (at the moment) just a black ops unit that officially doesn't exist.
