I'm not talking about some gimmicky thing like a specific person or a movie...

In all seriousness what base, instinctual, primal fear is so seeded in your conscious that even the slightest prolonged ackowledgement of it could be terrifying?

It could be an idea or a scenario...it could be something happening in the world right now that you find horrifying.

You don't have to share anything too personal, I'm just looking for a wide range of genuine answers.

I don't really have vertigo, but I've never been good with ladders. I can barely climb two steps. One time, my grandmother asked me to climb up a ladder to do something and I couldn't, so she went up instead. That made me feel like a jerk.

Snakes and spiders.

Spiders. I hate spiders. With a passion.

Not sure....I don't scare of stuff like spiders and snakes and the norm stuff. I always hated the feeling of getting caught in a lie.....that kinda sucks. That feeling where your stomach sinks and your heart beat jumps through the roof.

The thing I am most afraid of is when someone is reading something I wrote, like an article or story...not posts, and I am waiting to hear their thoughts. I am convinced people will hate my work everytime, regardless if my story is good or not.

The prospect of the posibility of getting my girlfriend pregnant.

Heights. I started getting nervous while at the top of the Empire State Building or the Sears Tower. Oddly, flying doesnt bother me.

I dont care for the idea that I'll be stuck in my current job forever. Minimum wage aint fun.

Being buried alive. THats why Ill never watch Buried

I have a similar fear, though not as specific as being buried. Just the idea of being stuck and not being able to move my arms or legs.

Oh and ever since my grand fathers legs were amputated when I was a little kid, the sight or thought of missing limbs, real or fake, disturbs me greatly.

snakes

or that fact that when i'm gone i'll be totally forgotten

THIS. I don't know why... :|

Along with huge spiders, the paranormal, and eerie horror movies like The Grudge.. and that's about it. :(
