Yeah, I sometimes buy comics from the local Books A Million and they've always been the same price as if you bought them in a specialty store, but now it seems that newer ones that the company sites (i.e., Marvel.com) says are regular price (2.99 US) are a dollar more (3.99 US)

What up? Marvel's really getting blunt with they're moneymaking schemes. :o :down

That's nothing to do with Marvel, that would be whatever Books A Million is pushing up their profits.

That's why I like Khepri. Everything is always marked down 10-30%.

Egypt, I think. Khepri was the sun god that the dung beetle was the avatar for.

Unless Books A Million prints the comics then this would be Marvel, on the indica and on the cover, it lists the price in the indirect market as $3.99 US

Yup you're right, the beetles pushing of the dung represented the movement of the sun across the sky. He became, or was considered to be the embodiment of the sun.

oh. the threadjacks, oh, the memories. :zoidberg:

Are you sure the comic you were looking at isn't just special in some way? Marvel, DC, and pretty much every other comic company publish books above the usual price for certain reasons, like if there's no ads or more pages, or if it's just somehow special. For example, The Last Fantastic Four Story from last week cost $4.99 because it was a special event comic with a spiffy cover and written by Stan ****ing Lee.
