Which year do you think had the best lineup of summer movies based on YOUR own personal preferences?

I personally can't think of mine at the moment but to be honest, I think 2007 will be it:

-Transformers
-The Simpsons
-The Bourne Ultimatum
-Rush Hour 3
-FF 2
-POTC 3
-Shrek 3
-Oceans 13 (cautiously optimistic)

and of course....

Well?

2002 for me

AOTC
Spidey 1
Minority Report
Bourne Indentity
The Sum of all fears

2007 looks great i agree but you missed Live free or Die Hard off:mad:

Tecnically they all could stink. Shouldn't be 2006 and back?

Same for me, except for the one I highlighted. I don't remember seeing 4 films that I really enjoyed during the course of the summer. (Of course, on repeated dvd viewings, only two of those actually hold up for me anymore: MR, BI)

It was either 2004 or 2005. I alwys had a movie to go to each week.

I think mine was 05 (batman begins blew me away) and 06 (x3, superman returns)

2007 is by far the best Summer movie line-up of all-time.
My most memorable movie summer was probably last year, for that was the year where I really got into movies.

2006 was by far the worst summer in a long time.

2005 was a great one for me.

but 2007 is shaping up to be eve nbetter. so many awesome movies coming out.

2005 was great for me. 2007 will own, you all know why.

Last year, simply for one movie..all that wait was well worth it :)

Well, its wierd...I was in 7th grade and I was lucky enough to see just about every movie that came out in 1994...and it really was a solid line up that year...the year after Jurassic Park had just about every movie using new forms of special effects...it started in May...Friday the 13th of May 1994...The Crow...I got to see twice...I became obsessed, my mom took me to the comic book store to get me T-shirts and and the reprints of the James Obarr books...
Then...memorial day weekend-ish...May 20th...Maverick...packed, full house theatre...had a blast watching it, it was so much fun.
eek...City Slickers 2...my family asked me since I knew so much about movies...what would one that my grandma and grandpa like to see, not too violent and a little funny...well, they loved the first City Slickers...but this was a stinker...but that year was the year of cowboy movies...Maverick, City Slickers 2 and the Cowboy Way.
Oh my god...also in June...Speed...I loved it...I bragged to everyone at school about it...it was just such a cool movie...I saw it twice.
again in June...Wolf...meh...I'm surprised I actually liked it when I was that young...I watched it recently on TV about a month ago...it kinda sux.
Forrest Gump...and thats all I have to say about that...summer was just kicking in...we were outa school and I had heard so much about this one that I finally had to see it...theatres were selling out like crazy for that one on July 4th weekend...ahh memories.
Two movies that I'll always love to this day and don't ask me why...Blown Away and The Shadow also came out in July.
Then probably the most fun I had all summer...True Lies...easily the best movie that summer and at the time...one of the most expensive movies ever made.
And lastly while on vacation...my mom let us run around the mall and gave us money to go see a movie...The Mask...my brother and I laughed the whole way through...were like the only ones in the theatre. And then on a serious note in august...Clear and Present Danger...great movie...loved Patriot Games too.
It was just a fun colorful summer...a lot of big budget movies...and a lot that I would cherish forever....other movies that I didn't see in theatres but you all may remember how gaga people went for the Lion King...
...and then later on I had waited till video to see these...
Natural Born Killers
ugh...too many to list...some just not worth mentioning...but I have to say that was by far one of the best summers for movies for me.

Here in Argentina, it's winter, not summer.

And by far the best one HAS to be 2003

WE had "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines", "Finding Nemo" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl" ,all in the same month.

This winter vacation came up pretty good, too. We had "Superman Returns", "Over the Hedge", "Cars", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "Garfield 2".

Despite what some people think, 1999 when Episode I came out. I never anticipated a movie like the return of Star Wars.

03. Hulk ... changed my life

2002-Spiderman. It was absolute padamonium here in NY.
2003- Finding Nemo and POTC 1
2004-Spiderman II
2005-Batman Begin and ROTS
2006-POTC 2, X3, Cars, The Devil Wears Prada, Miami Vice. The summer is shaping up to be my favorite.
Of course next summer( 2007) looks freaking awesome: POTC 3, Spiderman 3, Rush Hour 3, The Bourne Ultimatium, FF2, Ocean's 13,

1999.

Phantom Menace let me down a bit but the wait was magical.

Buying the toys ... midnight visits to Toys-R-us ... its was a return to childhood.

If memory serves didn't the Matrix come out that year as well?

Also the Sixth Sense, Blair Witch, Toy Story 2, Sleepy Hollow, South park ...

I spent ALOT of time in cinemas that Summer.

2003 was decent, but fell a little short.Lots of potential but film quality was off. 2007 line up looks great. 2006 was horrendous

Cant say.

2002 - Spidey 1, SW-II, LOTR-II, HP-2, MR.

2003 - POTC, LOTR:ROTK, X2.

2004 - Spidey 2, Shrek 2, HP-III, The Incredibles, The Aviator, Meet the Fockers.

2005 - SW-III, BB, HP-4, Narnia, KK.

I think 2007 will be one of the best years :)

Most memorable was 1983.
My Mom let me skip school so I could spend the night at my friend's house so we could get up early to get in line for Return of the Jedi.
We didn't even care about the Ewoks, only the Biker Scouts and Darth Vader throwing the Emperor down the shaft.
A this time you heard David Bowie's "Let's Dance" everywhere you went.

Also, in S.L.C., Utah...City Creek flooded. The whole city was sand-bagging and they diverted the water, turning State Street (a big main street), into the State Street River.

So it was surreal, there was a raging river running through downtown, and we had to cross this creaky, makeshift wooden bridge to get to the theater to watch Return of the Jedi everyday.

I don't even remember what other movies came out, but unashamedly singing Let's Dance, in our over-sized, custom-designed T-Shirts, crossing a bridge over a downtown river to see Darth Vader kill the Emperor everyday was more memorable than any other summer.

Not all of those are summer flicks. If we look over whole years (which I prefer to do) 03 had the most potential with ROTK, X2, POTC, Last Samurai, Kill Bill, Master & Commander, Daredevil as well as the somewhat disappointing Hulk, T3, and both Matrix sequels.

2005.
ROTS, Batman Begins, Serenity, War of the Worlds, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Yeah, 2005 rocked, but 2007 is gonna be better.

2005 (Sin City(even though it was in April) Batman Begins, War of the Worlds, Fantastic Four.) I was at the movies so much. 2007 will soon take it's place though.
