The Dark Knight What Will TDK's Rating / Certificate Be?

Rated M for Masochistic.

I heard there was a rumor they were going to splice in stock footage from porno films into the movie during the editing process, so who knows.

Why does this topic keep coming up? There is no question: it will be PG-13, period. Even if Nolan was interested in an R-rated film, WB wouldn't allow it.

Thank you.

This thread shouldn't even exist. Its hilarious to me that the mods would leave this open yet immediately close other threads that have some legitimacy.

Go onto 'Batman Begins sequel art' on 'The Dark Knight (Non Spoilers)' and check out pictures of the joker if you havent seen them before. just go to 'post reply' its in that section.

You are killing me!

Stop linking to those pictures and telling everyone to go look at them in EVERY thread.

I'm pretty positive that WB won't be down for anything higher than PG-13, but I certainly wouldn't mind an R rated Dark Knight.

Exactly... I already posted a three links in another thread where we had this argument with finacial informanation from Time Warner documents that confirmed a PG-13 rating would be required on the film because of their marketing agreements with third parties and I gave the e-mail to the guy who is heading the marketing for TDK for those loonies who still didn't believe it even with the three sources from WB itself.

I can never figure out why this conversation ever comes up.

I'm sure that there will be a directors cut. As gritty as this movie appears to be so far I'm sure Nolan and the editors will have to cut out some stuff to "tone it down" for the brady bunch, I mean the mpaa. :oldrazz:

I'm not sure !Nolan doesn't seem to be the type of guy who likes the DC (unless he's been forced to cut by the producers)!

I remember him replying coldly to an interviewer who asked him about hypothetic deleted scenes in Batman Begins: "No ! Everything I did is in the movie you saw!"

Nolan is very cautious about giving to the audience gis precise vision of the story he wants to tell ! So unless the producers are a-holes:csad: :o everything about TDK will be shown in theaters !

That's a sign of an amazing director/editor there.

yeah, i think DC trusts him and will let his vision reach the screen

Well there were some scenes cut from Batman Begins. The final Scarecrow stage was cut from the film and that's what I REALLY wanted to see.

As for the rating of The Dark Knight? It'll be a very, very hard PG-13 in my opinion. I just hope the soccer moms don't start complaining, whining, and crying about how their little Johnny was scarred by the content of this film.

It's time the MPAA changes its rating scale.

PG-15 would be the ****.

That's too close to R. They may as well go all out and make it restricted.

PG -13 today is just an R rated movie 20 years ago.

The only R rate Batman movie I want to see is a movie adaptation of ALL-STAR GODDAMN BATMAN!

"R" is restricted to everyone under 17, or with adult supervision.

PG-13 means every kid with a cool parent gets to see the movie.

True, PG-15 is extremely close to an "R" rating. But a PG-15 movie would encourage a larger number of teens to adult age, rather than a "PG-13 can't be that bad for my 10-year-old."

With such a rating, maybe, the movie companies could create a "close to R as they can get" without prohibiting a 12-13 crowd, but deterring a 8-11 crowd.

The scale ha changed, just without the "rating" being changed.

Go watch a 1987 PG movie and compare it to a 2007 PG movie. Goonies, for example is PG. Had the movie been made today, the movie would clearly be a PG-13.

Maybe times should change, kinda like the video games, and now TV ratings.

BB was 12A (PG-13) in UK, TDK would be same.

I hope the 3rd movie is R... that would be badass.

Never going to happen. Warner Bros. wants to make money and they know an R rated Batman will never make as much money.

Although I'm quite sure we'll get a very, very hard and gruesome PG-13 for both films.
