The Suicide Squad – Col. Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Mongal (Mayling Ng), Savant (Pete Davidson), Javelin (Flula Borg), Weasel (Sean Gunn) and Detachable Kid (Nathan Fillion) are sent by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) to investigate “The Mayor” (Joaquin Cosío), an elusive criminal mastermind, but are ambushed and killed one by one.

Five months later, Mongal resurfaces in Panama, assisting in a coup led by General Barrera (Juan Diego Botto), and Waller assembles a new team to investigate, formed by Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Ratcatcher (Daniela Melchior), Peacemaker (John Cena), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastamalchian) and King Shark (Steve Agee). Waller approaches Flag’s old army buddy Adrian Chase (Idris Elba) to lead the team in exchange for exoneration for his crimes and a chance to reconnect with his estranged daughter Drew (Storm Reid).

The team ultimately learns that “The Mayor” is immortal warlord Vandal Savage, who is running a meta-human trafficking operation alongside his enforcers Queen Bee (Alice Braga), Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Blackguard (Michael Rooker), Multiplex (Taika Waititi) and Boomerang, who doublecrossed the team. They brainwashed Mongal into becoming one of their “products” and discarded the others for being useless. The new Suicide Squad must learn how to work as a team to stop Savage before he raids Belle Reve and recruits the dangerous meta-humans locked up there for his growing army.

Tinashe Kajese, Jennifer Holland, Julio Ruiz and Hannah Harlow have minor roles as Ratcatcher’s mother, Waller’s assistant, Barrera’s right-hand man and Chase’s ex-wife/Drew’s mother.

Boomerang triple-crosses Savage to get back into Waller's good graces in the end. Polka-Dot Man and Peacemaker die. Expect many more cameos of B/C/D-lister DC Comics supervillains.
