Ultimate_Spider-Man_Vol_1_6_page_03_Peter_Parker_(Earth-1610).jpg

So while I was outside doing yard work, my mind was wondering and I though about what I was discussing earlier about how Spider-Man's future looks the worse out of Fox, Sony, WB, and Disney. I thought about The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and how people would be interested in it and what direction it would go. I thought about making this a comment but the deeper and deep I thought, the more ideas I had. So I thought, why not make this my own thread?

The best way I would describe my take on TASM3 is the theme is moving on and letting go in some aspects.

We will see this is numerous aspects.

Peter Parker/Spider-Man: I thought about how TASM2 ended. Honestly I'm not convinced Spidey is back. We see Spidey back but he's still hurting. While Peter was Spider-Man before, he always had Gwen to hold him down and be his support but he lost that with Gwen. He has nothing to go home to. Even worse is his best friend murdered her and is in jail. Point is, Peter is damaged.

Peter currently is in his sophomore year in college and taking photos for the Bugle. He lives with Aunt May still. I will come back to some more aspects about Peter.

Mary Jane Watson: Oh course, we finally see MJ. My idea she is a transfer student who recently moved to Queens next door to the Parkers. Aunt May and MJ's mother became good friends and introduced Peter and MJ. Not the "You just hit the jackpot" style. No offense Stan Lee. She likes to smile a lot and is very energetic.

My take on MJ is very different in a way. I'm not saying she's a feminist but she has a difficult time trusting men and the reason for this is her relationship with her father. She would see him beat on her mother as well as cheat on her. This isn't the "party girl" MJ in the comics, it's more of my own take. She does keep this pain hidden inside her and mask it a bit with how she feels about her father.

With MJ, I did think how to make her different from Gwen. Gwen was smart. Books smart so MJ would be more street smart so to speak. MJ has a passion for art so to speak. She does draw and paint and is trying to get into the Art department of the school she goes to college with with Peter. Art can make you free so to speak and let out all the anger you have and that's how MJ deals with her pain so to speak.

I do know they would share a class or 2 but it would be a more basic classes.

Eddie Brock: My take on Eddie is different and somewhat based off the Ultimate while keeping the spirit and idea of the 616 intact. He's a college student who becomes a friend to Peter. Eddie isn't the best student. He is a lab partner with Peter. Eddie at first seems friendly to Peter but we learn that he cheats off him on tests and assignments. Peter doesn't discovers it and doesn't think it's right. He tells the teacher and in the end, Eddie gets expelled from the college.

Rather than thinking about what he did was wrong, he blames Peter and will have REVENGE!!!

Flash Thompson: I did think of having Flash somewhat involved. It's more to close out the trilogy and connect everything. Flash is at the college Peter is but he's different. He has no legs. After Flash's first semester in college, he went to Afghanistan and a truck blew up. He was set home.

Him and Peter do have a better relationship than before. Peter does help him out and they kind of become good friends. In order words, they move on.

State Of Oscorp/Venom: Due to the fact Oscorp had 3 former workers plus someone steal tech from them commit crimes, Oscorp is failing and may go out of business. Stocks are down as well as public support. Peter hears how they might go out of business and goes to the SPIDER-DADCAVE to see if his father was involved in anything else at Oscorp. We learn his father did think of an idea to save Norman as well as cure cancer via the Venom symbiote. Yes it's more based off the Ultimate design because we got a more 616 approach with Spider-Man 3. Also aliens don't exist in this Spider-Man universe so it ain't looking good.

Peter sneaks in to Oscorp, finds the symbiote, attaches to him, BLACK SUIT. Yea.

mysterio_color_06a.jpg

Mysterio: My take on Mysterio takes a lot of different things. He's kind of like Val Kilmer now. He was a big time actor but he's not remembered. He's no longer big and studios don't want him. At first he creates a villain like a Scooby Doo villain and kind of haunts movie sets of former directors who wouldn't hire him and actors who beat him out for roles.

He sees how big he's getting in the news and takes it to a more grand scale. This next idea is Spider-Man 2 the game influence where we see an alien invasion in NYC? Of course it's an illusion but we don't know that till it's too late.

I don't have many other ideas at the moment. I know in his final battle with Spider-Man, Spidey will see Kid Goblin and Gwen and it messes with his head. The way how Spidey defeats Mysterio is similar to the "first" appearance of Venom in Ultimate. Because Spidey is seeing visions of Gwen dead and Harry laughing along with Mysterio, he's pissed which cause Venom to come out and play like so:

ng4ys3.jpg

xatn2o.jpg

It leaves Mysterio traumatized and Spidey leaves the scene trying to save himself against the suit.

My only problem is I'm not sure how to have Eddie come in contact with Venom. I did think what if Eddie was a janitor at Oscorp and he sees Peter returning the suit. He figures out Peter is Spidey and opens the can. Once he's Venom maybe he attacks the school looking for Peter as well as the dean and teacher who expelled him.

Overall that's a rough idea I have for the film. I thought of it for like 25 minutes and it took nearly 45 to type. So thoughts on this?

I love it Levi! :woot:

The only thing I dislike it the idea of Brock being a college student, but other than that... 9/10! :woot:

Well Brock was a college student in the Ultimate universe so I thought of that really. Still thanks.

Really good Levi, fantastic.

The only thing I'd add is specifically MJ helping Peter move on from Gwen, maybe a couple of scenes with him all sad and stuff, just to add a bit more depth to the moving on theme.

Really good though, I think Mysterio has been set up for the next film.

Some ideas I have about having MJ help Peter is by making her different from Gwen in a good way.

Gwen was someone Peter could have conversations with and she would understand them.

I feel with MJ, some people dumb her down to make it like she can't understand what Peter is saying and isn't as smart. I thought what if I make her smarter in a different field than Peter in terms of the arts. She's far more adventurous than Gwen though.

MJ and Peter both try to let each other in their lives and want to but they have their guard up. Peter with Gwen's death and doesn't want MJ to get hurt or worse and MJ with her feelings with her dad and doesn't want anyone to hurt her like her father hurt her mother.

Just some ideas. I haven't thought about how Peter and MJ have like a first date so to speak.

I know I want MJ and Eddie to kind of represent 2 different and new roads in Peter's life. One road leads to happiness and other leads to fear and danger.

I also thought of a nice nod in maybe MJ's best friend is Liz Allen. I don't think Liz has been in this series yet. Maybe Liz could be dating Flash.

I like your ideas(MJ in particular) but honestly I think they should leave symbiote out of TASM3 simply because it was already done in Raimi's threequel. Critics will latch onto anything they can find to hate that movie even if it's great. We don't want that now do we :)

That's why if they do Venom, it will probably be after the third movie. Maybe in the fourth movie. I'd personally bring in the symbiote right after Gwen's death. It would make perfect sense for Peter to be in a state of sorrow, and the symbiote can come in to feed on that. If they do that, that would be awesome. :woot:

The next story I want to see is Kravens last Hunt. I would leave Venom until after the Sinister Six.

ASM3 is going to be about the Sinister Six, leaving Venom to the fourth movie.

Some great ideas in this thread!

Anyway, I've thought a lot about Mary Jane and her potential arc. Here are some of my ideas:

First of all, in terms of MJ's aspirations (if they are looking for something other than actress), instead of a painter, how about a dancer? In the comics, MJ loves to dance and her sister Gayle took ballet lessons and wanted to be a dancer, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Clearly, Peter's life is inundated with tragedy. He's lost his parents, two father figures, and his first love. I think they should emphasize the tragedy in MJ's life. Since MJ is someone who would eventually become a crucial member of his support system, they should show that she is fully capable of understanding the pain that he has been through.

I was thinking...maybe MJ's mother was a popular actress/dancer/artist. Her father was a successful screenwriter. As a young girl, Mary Jane shared her mother's interests and talent and wanted to follow in her footsteps. MJ's parents were high school sweethearts (similar to Peter and Gwen). Unfortunately, MJ's mother passed away at a young age, and shortly after, MJ's depressed father abandoned his career, his family, and slipped into alcoholism and crime. This not only causes MJ to give up on her artistic dreams, but she becomes increasingly leery of serious relationships, drawing the conclusion that they ultimately lead to pain and disappointment. She keeps the people in her life at an arms length and hides her insecurities behind a beautiful smile, fun and wild personality, and a witty sense of humor. She's a charmer!

As a teen, MJ bounced around from relative to relative (many of whom refused to put up with her erratic behavior). Just before the events of TASM3, one of MJ's uncles is killed. Her Aunt Anna Watson is left all alone and devastated with mounting debt and possible foreclosure. Unlike MJ's other relatives, she remembers them being very kind to her when she was younger. She moves into Anna's home in Queens and lands a few jobs (waitress, bartending, modeling, etc.) to help her aunt pay the bills. May Parker and Anna Watson work at the same hospital and befriend one another. When Anna tells May about her niece's arrival, May invites them over for dinner for a "welcome party" of sorts.

At first, her and Peter seem to have a "frictional" type of chemistry. Their interests/views clash, and there's an entertaining back-and-forth between them. I'm not sure how far they'll go with MJ, but I imagine her being introduced as a "mystery girl".The audience only gets bits and pieces of her back-story (maybe through conversions between Anna and May). Peter judges her. Ultimately, we think we know her, but we don't. Then, there's some type of dramatic shift (like the epilogue of ASM #122) that causes her to change her outlook on life. Instead of burying her emotions, she finally confronts them and all is revealed. She helps Peter cope with his loss and teaches him how have fun again, and he inspires her to chase the dreams that she abandoned after her mother died. Despite their differences, they become close friends and support one another.

Maybe, in the future, she auditions for a major production, or tries to get into a prestigious art school.

True but at the same time I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean in Man of Steel Zod was the villain and in Batman V Superman, Lex is. They just switched the main villains from the Donner films.

It doesn't matter if Raimi did it. It really doesn't I mean we had Joker done twice, Two-Face done twice, Catwoman twice, Bane twice, Green Goblin twice, Magneto like 4 times. It's all about the approach.

Thanks though.

Yea that's kind of my idea with it. I always felt the black suit after Gwen's death would be perfect along with having Mysterio because maybe he gives the allusion of Gwen's death.

That Mysterio picture is pretty badass.

It's concept art from the Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions game.

See I did consider that maybe MJ is actress or a dancer but since I'm in college, I was kind of looking at what's going on at my college so to speak where Peter and MJ could fit in. I don't go to like a college for art or any of those. I go to a university. I do know there is an art section in my school. I feel like the thing with MJ is she's always been free so to speak. She's always been free minded and such. Gwen was more of a book worm along with Peter. I feel that MJ being more free and Peter being more of a book worm, it's like opposites attrach sort of thing.

One of my influences of MJ is this girl I knew (don't want to talk about it). She loved art and had a smile that could light up a room and brighten even the darkest soul's day. Still friends with her but when I was thinking of MJ I kind of thought of kids I knew in High School and college who would be like MJ and I thought of her.

Don't want to talk about it anymore but the more I thought about MJ, she's always been kind of a fan of the arts. She wanted to be an actress, in Raimi's series she was in theater, in the comics she love to dance. I do know that I play of her to be a fan of poetry and theater and other stuff like that but my big thing is she likes to draw and paint. I thought how can we make her a bit different while keeping her the same and there are some many different styles of the arts I just want her to be an artist.

I do like the idea of her moving in with her aunt and maybe her aunt is already next door neighbors with May and some of the stuff where her parents.

Some of the "frictional" type of chemistry I did want. I felt instead of Peter judges her they both judge each other. The thing with MJ and Peter is they are both broken inside. That's why they work so well together.

Thanks also.

The best choice that Sony can make is firing Roberto Orci.

I just realized that TASM3 and the TASM franchise in general can kind of follow the same track as Daniel Craig's Bond films:

TASM1 = Casino Royale (smaller scale and grounded reboot)
TASM2 = Quantum of Solace (bigger isn't necessarily better)
TASM3 = Skyfall???????? (back to basics and setting up the character as we know him).

I always envisioned that TASM3 would actually end with Peter Parker opening the door to MJ and her delivering the classic line: "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot" in the same vein as James Bond walking into a familiar M's office at the end of Skyfall.

In this case, TASM3 would kind of bring back the iconic staples of the Spider-Man universe such as the Daily Bugle and MJ Watson, similarly to how Skyfall reintroduced Q and Moneypenny.

I would do a smaller scale Skyfall/ On Her Majesty's Secret Service-type story for ASM 3 which a very different version of the MJ character plays a central part of the story as opposed to just being there to be there. I would even have Spiderman take on a force he's never done in live action, which would be the criminal empire of The Kingpin. Yeah, I know legally it can't happen but that's who i'd have in addition to Tombstone as the face of the organization underboss with Sandman, Chameleon, and Shocker serving as enforcers. No silly backstories, no origins, no " I'm a good guy but.." type explanations. They would be as is, much like the Brotherhood in the X Men films. The inclusion of Tombstone also allows for the introduction of Robbie and the rest of the Daily bugle group.

This is the cast I would have in terms of additions

Mary Jane: Lyndsy Fonseca
Kingpin/ Wilson Fisk: Ray Winstone
Tombstone: Chiwetel
Sandman: Jon Hamm
Shocker : Jim Caviazel
Chameleon : James Fran
Robbie Robertson: Jeffrey Wright
J.Jonah Jameson: Karl Urban

I see. Agreed completely

With regards to her career, I don't mind them changing things as long as the core of the character is left intact. Raimi's MJ may have been an actress, but she never felt like MJ to me. Visual artist could work with MJ's personality. Just depends on how it's handled.

What's really important is how they work MJ into the story and the themes of the trilogy (assuming that MJ plays a major role in tasm3, she could just have a cameo). Otherwise, it'll feel detached from everything that came before it. Unlike the comics, MJ (so far) has not played a role in Peter and Gwen's relationship or the 'Death of Gwen Stacy' arc.

That's why I was thinking that maybe they could have the story of MJ's parents parallel Pete and Gwen: the death of MJ's mother mirroring the death of Gwen Stacy. Not only could Pete and MJ relate to each other on a very personal level, but it could help bring the story full circle.

MJ's loss as a child and her father's abandonment and descent into criminality results in her giving up on her ambitions/dreams and building this seemingly carefree facade, but Peter's heroics and response to Gwen's death ( in contrast to her father) gives her hope. In his personal life, Peter returns to being the solemn quiet introvert of TASM, but MJ's very lively personality gets him to embrace the fun and adventurous side of life again. Ironically, the one person that they can relate to the most, is (on the surface) the most dissimilar to them. Also MJ's Aunt going through a situation similar to Aunt May's in TASM1 (maybe even related to Uncle Ben's killer) is just another way of potentially bringing things full circle.

Whatever they do, I'm hoping they don't isolate Peter and MJ. Bring back Flash Thompson, introduce some of the Bugle characters (Jonah, Robbie, Betty, Ned, or Glory), bring in Liz Allen and Randy Robertson (perhaps as friends of MJ), etc. as minor characters.

edit: And keep MJ away from Spidey's battles! I've seen some people suggest that maybe Spidey saves MJ where he failed to save Gwen, but MJ has been turned into a "damsel in distress" one too many times.

Venom and Mysterio sounds great to me. Those are probably the villains I'd most want to see.

I say they should just fire all the writers, nobody from TASM or TASM2, just get the guys that wrote Spider-Man 2...

No idea how I didn't stumble onto this thread earlier.

Interesting, indeed. And I agree, get Orci and Kurtzman the **** off ASM3.

I have to disagree here, for one thing, this is a lot of things to put into the next movie and once again leaves too many things to be concluded in the sequels.

I think that the best way to get out of AS-M 2's mess is to give the Director the freedom for him to do whatever he wants, and go the Skyfall route of doing a self-contained story that happens to build from the previous one. He has said that the villain he's the most interested in is Kraven, so think they should focus on that and do Mary Jane as this new character that doesn't necessarily have to end up with Peter at the end, just to be three dimensional, interesting, and to have good chemistry with Andrew Garfield.

I go darknight rises style and use kraven asmy bane and blackcat as my catwoman to keep the budget down

I actually think you could TDKR style story but with the sinister six and MJ in ASM3 .

* It takes place a few years after ASM 2 and instead of a retired Spiderman, you'd have a Peter Parker disappearing and Spiderman, being his whole purpose. He's pushing himself to physical and emotional limit while neglecting his school, social life, and his job. He's fired from the Bugle, loses his academic scholarship, and finds reasons to break dates. He hasn't been able to move forward from Gwen, he avoids making connections, he's isolated in the way he was at the beginning of ASM. The deaths of Ben, George, and Gwen weigh heavily on his mind

* MJ is the person who serves the John Blake like person who also has her own pain and becomes a friend to Peter out of a shared understanding despite coming from different backgrounds. She helps to helps to bring the Peter Parker side back to life, though Peter would feel guilty.

* May would be the main force trying to save Peter and would basically be trying to push MJ toward Peter as she did in the comics. In this case however it would be as a way of helping both of them as opposed to the way it was in the 60's.

* The S6 would be a group which conducts major operations almost like a seal team for a shadowly quantum- like organization lead by Chameleon , as opposed to Oscorp. The tech was stolen from Oscorp after the company collasped and went bankrupt. Instead of lose nukes, you'd have had this weaponry and technology make its way to the highest bidders . I'd have the S6 line up be Doc Ock, Scorpion, Kraven, Mysterio, Vulture, and Sandman.

* The S6 nearly kills Peter after his first encounter, unmask him, and they bury him alive ala Kraven's last hunt. For several weeks no one has seen Peter or Spiderman as The S6 continue with their plans.

* In the meanwhile Peter is between life and death much like Harry Potter in Deathly Hollows. There he sees Uncle Ben and George Stacy and Gwen since he carries the guilt for all of their deaths on his concious. Gwen gives him permission to live again and tells him that he has to go 's on living and that he has a life that worth living. Peter then awakens in the grave and crawls out of it as in Kraven's last hunt.

* In the end Spiderman just barely defeats the S6 and finds the will to live again and deciding to make MJ a part of his life.

Kraven grew up in an impoverished village controlled by underworld bosses in the employ of Norman Osborn. The village, isolated, served as a testing ground for early cross-species research and development. Kraven grew up having to fend for himself amid forests and mountains swarming with OsCorp's bio-engineered horrors (really, failed symbiote experiments from early research by Richard Parker). He learns of OsCorp's interest in reviving Richard Parker's research on the . By now Kraven understands the futility of trying to free his people through guerilla warfare. He decides to head to New York to kill Peter Parker, whom Kraven gathers is a perfect match for the symbiote.

This is a beautiful idea. Definitely something I would enjoy seeing. I'm actually staring to pen a TASM 3 script of my own. Using a lot of the ultimate themes as well.

Well Orci's gone now. Too bad that Kurtzman just confirmed that Sony had no backup plan. The rights need to return to Marvel.
