This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]349402[/split]
Allow me to explain one more time...
INCLUDING Heroes Of Wrestling....I believe that Hardy vs Sting is the worst PPV main event I had heard of (I hadnt heard of the Goldberg/DDP fiasco).
Now...I am NOT going back on my word...I am INCLUDING Heroes Of Wrestling. The reason why is very simple...NO ONE expected a high quality match that night. NO ONE expected the match to mean anything at all even in the short term. The people who bought that PPV had no reason to believe that it would be anything more than a goofy, nostalgic night of wrestling, with guys way past their prime who shouldnt even be in the ring. Sting vs Hardy was for a world title...one that is recognized and covered by every wrestling news organization. This match had major importance, and was promoted to be a huge match with huge ramifications for months to come.
However, what several people have tried to explain to you is...Heroes Of Wrestling was a one time goofball event that no one took seriously. Unlike ECW, AWA, Mid South, TNA etc etc etc Heroes Of Wrestling had no storylines...no ongoing feuds...no promises to feature any of the wrestlers ever again...no titles...no history...they had NOTHING. They had less going for it than your average local indie fed. It was a one time experiment to see if people would pay to see washed up broken down wrestlers, just for the sake of seeing them again. You simply CANNOT seriously be comparing this to an ECW PPV event, as if the two were in any way similar outside of the "sport" of wrestling being involved.
And for the record...last night I defeated my dog Honey Bunny to win the world title for the 800th time. Also, I am undefeated, as I have lost my smile 799 times, and had to forfeit each time. So, I have the most world title reigns, and the longest win streak in wrestling history...please mention that if anyone ever tries to tell you that some other wrestler actually holds those records.
Sting probably didn't want to be a guy that no showed a match. I've never heard of him doing that before and he's always at least treid to hold up his end even if the other guy didn't. Maybe he was hoping managment would send a replacment out for Hardy.Originally Posted by Hunter Rider
Sting could actually walk out as I'm pretty sure putting him out there with a coked up co-worker is a breach of contract.
But the owners of Two And Half Men tried to keep the show going with Sheen as long as possibleOriginally Posted by Superark
It's amazing to me that even the people in Hollywood had more sense about Charlie Sheen to let him go and yet TNA cannot even handle Jeff Hardy correctly.
I think he'll stick with them. The reason he's never gone to WWE is that he has no guarantee of how he'll be used.I'm really curious to how he felt about coming back to TNA after this incident. By all accounts he does not need the money and comes back because he has a good relationship with Dixie and she gives him the schedule that allows him to be a family man and spend time with his wife and kids (plus they always offer him a nice check). I wouldn't be surprised if Sting felt like he didn't need that kinda of crap in his life and threatened to leave. I've never in the 20 years I've been a Sting fan, have seen him act the way he did last night.
Eh...
If I go to an indie show, and it's full of washed up old timers who I was well on my way to forgetting about that have blown through their money on hard living and have to keep wrestling til they drop dead...yeah, I expect a train wreck. I'm actually surprised whenever a wrestler like that DOES handle himself professionally.
Vince McMahon basically blackmailed Starrcade off the air 20 + years ago and didn't give a f*** about Sting or his job. There are plenty of stories like that with Vince McMahon. I think he just doesn't trust Vince at all. but moe and more reports are that there there never WERE talks between WWE and Sting this year so I don't see why some people are bringing that up.
I don't care if he goes to WWE or not. I wasn't talking about it in this context. Sting would just stay home.
I expect him to stick with TNA as well, but I'm very curious as to what his reaction was backstage since he was so visibly upset on camera.
Man the twitter responses to Dixie Carter are brutal. She is getting lit up by the fans about last night's main event
