As you guys probbaly know M.Nights last couple of movies [The villiage, Lady in the water] have recieved mixed to poor reviews by both moviegoers and critics. His last movie Lady in the water didn't perform all that well compared to his others, and was critically bashed. What can save this guys career? He once [pre The village] was one of the most populer directors in the game, and his last 2 movies have taken him back down to earth.

I was hoping it would be retirement.

Unbreakable was ok...I don't think he'll be making another film topping The Sixth Sense though.

Unbreakable was probably his finest moment ... a fantastic movie that gets better the more you watch it.

The problem is that the guy has a MASSIVE ego and thinks he is now in a position to make what he likes because of the money Sixth Sense made.

Yeah, he and George Lucas can retire to a desert island together.

Village sucked, liked Sixth Sense, didnt see Lady in Water

He has obvious talent, he just needs to get over himself and his twists, it would seem. He's a capable storyteller, no doubt.

This guy is all but finished... Indian men can make it in Bollywood... not Hollywood... I think it would serve him to do something unoriginal and see if he can do that... the spirituality and the twists just aren't working for him

Shyamalan has a lot of talent as a director, but sucks as a screenwriter. The flaws with his films have been mostly related to his writing, not to the execution.

He is officially in comeback mode after Lady In The Water tanked hard at the BO. I see him going down two paths, maybe both at the same time. He might do a non-suspense movie, something different than he's ever done before. Or he might do a franchise movie. I heard rumors of him wanting to do a Harry Potter film.

Hopefully a nine milimetre and a bottle of sleeping pills are on his agenda.
His films suck.

Whats next for M. Night?

Hopefully a film that will restore some faith in him from both Hollywood and the general audiences after his last two films.

Was that overt racism intentional, or was it just coincidental?

Ugh.

M. Night's next movie should be about dancing toliets:up:

Kal Penn is doing pretty good in Hollywood, there's also some Indian guy from Heroes

He should make a genuine movie and tell a solid story instead of the BS he's been cranking out since Signs. I have a friend that interviewed him awhile back, between Signs and the Village and M.Night basically admitted that he was really pissed at the lukewarm reception of Unbreakable and did Signs just to jerk around the critics.

The only his two movies, which I liked were Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Others sucked.
