Star Wars went up against Annie Hall, Annie Hall is great movie so it's not really a robbery.

Goodfellas went up against Dances with Wolves, Dances With Wolves probably was a lot more revolutionary 17 years ago back when it introduced a western that has Indians that weren't like frickin cartoon characters, it also a great film... AGain not a robbery considering that Goodfellas didn't revolutionize the Gangster picture like Godfather did, though Goodfellas is a great film that I love.

Pulp Fiction went up against Forest Gump... These in themselves are not robberies....

Also, I am glad to see so many people list The Shawshank Redemption. It was going up against Pulp Fiction (my favorite movie) and Forrest Gump, so it's loss was not in vain.
