Whats the Best Nom. to not win Best Picture

Star Wars went up against Annie Hall, Annie Hall is great movie so it's not really a robbery.

Goodfellas went up against Dances with Wolves, Dances With Wolves probably was a lot more revolutionary 17 years ago back when it introduced a western that has Indians that weren't like frickin cartoon characters, it also a great film... AGain not a robbery considering that Goodfellas didn't revolutionize the Gangster picture like Godfather did, though Goodfellas is a great film that I love.

Pulp Fiction went up against Forest Gump... These in themselves are not robberies....

I recently saw Dances With Wolves after not watching it for probably 17 years (frick I'm getting old!) and I agree, that movie does not hold up. Which is odd for a historical flick, and don't get me wrong, it's a good movie, but it's one of those films I watch and realize it was never as good as I once believed. Goodfellas on the other hand, I don't know if there's a film out there that I can watch over and over and still enjoy it as much as the first time.

I agree with your Pulp Fiction/Forrest Gump comparison. Any other film and I'd say it was robbed. I still love both of those movies. They are both classic viewing experiences, yesterday and today.

Dances with Wolves isn't dated,I saw it for the first time months ago and thought it was excellent, I can see why it won.

I liked Little Miss Sunshine. Didn't it get a lot of hate on the boards?

No, I don't think so.
When the Academy Awards were on, let's just say that alot of us were Pro-Departed, and if we weren't that, we were Pro-Iwo Jima.

:o

I mean, I liked The Departed, but Little Miss Sunshine has been the first good original film in a long time, as far as I can think.
