They look the same to me.

:hehe:

Wow, you mods are going for it today with the stupid threads :D

This is a legit question, Matt's just a moron.

:oldrazz:

The hot cakes look a bit fatter, or is that the pancakes...

What's the difference? There must be one. Eggy, you just don't realise the seriousness of this thread :o

I figure it must be a regional thing. All my life they've been pancakes. In other parts of the country, folks may call them hotcakes.

I bet in other countries they probably get the word "pancake" mixed up with "poundcake" (which can accidentally lead to one very big breakfast :hehe:), thus thats probably why they call them "hotcakes".

McDonalds calls them hotcakes. Everyplace else says pancakes. Though some people call them johnny cakes, or flap jacks.

See, now I may have to make some for dinner tonight...I inherited my dad's desire to eat breakfast foods for dinner. :o I had bacon and french toast last night at 7pm.

I believe the Difference is Pancakes are made in a Pan. Hot Cakes are made on a Flat Hot Iron Surface, not a Pan. I believe it may have to do with False Advertising.

*****, all I know is IHOP is the bomb.

I believe Hotcakes is simply the name they gave Pancakes back in the day.

Not enough syrup for my taste though. I like my **** to be drenched in it. I want it soaked in syrup.
