The Big Blue (1988)

Hypnotic. Almost feels like you're on holiday while watching it.

You just know we need a James Cameron/Luc Besson team up for a huge underwater epic.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Cabin in the Woods
0.1/10

Horrible film, from seeing LionsGate logo to the end[blackout]
Comedy elements are cheap and wasteful
Plot is **** in a broken public toilet
People in charge of saving humanity come out as plain pure jerks, except for the black guy I don't know his name
Two main protagonists are selfish @**h***s
Selfish lame deity's with no good deity to stand against them (sacrifice 5 to save all humans, virgin must be the last to die, maybe survive)[/blackout]
Didn't inspire me to make even a bit of a joke watching it like Evil Dead 1 & 2 did, and that was the only good thing about the Evil Dead movies, along with Bruce Cambpell

Only pro I give that CitW film is [blackout]the unicorn shown evil, I hate unicorns[/blackout]

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
7.5/10

Entertaining idea, entertaining film

i don't think you quite understood cabin in the woods. it's a satire and deconstruction of the horror movie genre. i thought it was very clever.

The Dark Knight Trilogy Marathon

I got that part, and still hate this movie

Yeah I don't think Aziz got what the movie was trying to say. Could be that it's a movie for horror fans that knows the tropes and trappings of the horror genre.

yea i'm not trying to diss the guy, so apologies if it came across that way. but perhaps a repeat viewing with that in mind might help him enjoy it more.

I got the jokes, didn't find them amusing, they were distracting
Found references and making fun of cliches, didn't help

did you understand why the protagonists were selfish *****e bags though? they were meant to be, they are all stereotypical horror movie archetypes. i don't think the film intended for us to like or root for any of the characters really. i'm also not sure why you'd expect there to be a good deity to save them either. it's all basically a ritual sacrifice. it's all cool though if you don't like it, i'm not judging you. :D

John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)-- Still the best remake ever.

I liked and understood Cabin in the Woods but I can see why is not for everyone.

Last movie I saw
Topkapi

7/10

Chronicle
I don't know what to give it atm, it's nice and all, not the best film, and not sure right now if I will watch it anytime again soon

Death Warrant starring Jean Claude Van Damme.

Men Who Stare at Goats. Been wanting to watch it for awhile now, glad I did, it was pretty funny.

I haven't been on this forum in a little while, due to work obligations so I will give you the last five movies which I have seen recently and a one or two word review of each:
Prometheus: Mediocre
The Raven: Very Dull
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter: Terrible
Dylan Dog Dead of Night: Just Ok
X-Men First Class: Fantastic
