Kick Ass
Kick Ass 2

I liked both (rewatched the first one to refresh my memory for the second) although I'm torn on which I think is better. Both have their good and bad attributes. What I do definitely like the most is how bad ass Hit Girl is in both. Chloe Grace Moretz really has that character down.

There are a few things in the sequel I would have liked to see done different (the story felt forced or flat in places and some of the characters seemed redundant or useless) but it held together well enough and the finale fight was great.

Hellboy and I Am Legend. I needed some fun **** to watch where I didn't need to do much thinking.

I haven't seen any of the VS films in a long time. I forgot how funny Godzilla can be in these. In Godzilla vs Mothra, he gets his tail caught in a tower which falls on him and he slips and falls into a building later in the film. I guess he's still groggy from his slumber.

3.5/ I'll admit it, I get sad when
Mothra dies.

4/5 or Badass/5! Godzilla, Mothra(Larva form) and Rhodan vs Ghidorah? Hell yeah!

It was quite hilarious when Ghidorah shoots Godzilla in the butt with lightning and Godzilla does a kind of Looney Tunes reaction. Also found the Mothra dragging him one funny.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Nowhere near as funny as the first one, but the food island had good stuff.

Great effects and Sandra Bullock and Clooney are both likable, but it's the constantly moving camera and endless odd angles that really conveys the characters feeling of loss of control. Not a film I'd go out of my way to see again but a unique experiment in camera usage. 7/10

I just got done watching "Insidious". The guy with the red face and hooves is quite creepy!

Probably going to watch "The Conjuring" next. I'm on a horror movie kick today for some reason.

'Killing Them Softly'

I love this movie. The characters, the dialogue. I'd like to see Pitt and McNairy in another movie together. 8/10

Gojira (1954)-10/10

A masterpiece and in my opinion, the greatest monster movie ever made.

Yeah, it's very good. I actually thought it was scary as a kid, when you see Godzilla for the first time. But the original King Kong is better... :word:

I look forward to the new Godzilla movie.

The original Kong is great, but Gojira wasn't just a monster movie. It was a horrific look at human kind's arrogance towards human nature whereas Kong was an excellent fantasy. Can't deny that Kong started the genre so I gotta give him props for that. :word:

WAR HUNT (1962) starring Robert Redford and John Saxon

Interesting low budget anti war film....during the close of the Korean War, naive new recruit Redford is assigned to a platoon at the front lines...everyone there is both happy and terrified about having Pvt. Endore among them...because he loves going out nightly alone to slit the throats of any enemy soldiers he finds....and the guys worry what he will do if there is no more "enemy" soldiers.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Chris Pine is now the fourth actor to portray Tom Clancy's CIA analyst Jack Ryan, and he does a fine job as the man who always
finds himself in the middle of the action.

The film does suffer from a been there done that feel, and some moments are just to conveinient, but it is boosted
by a dry Kevin Costner as Ryans CIA mentor,Keira Knightley's charm and beauty and Director and co star Kenneth Branagh as villain
Viktor Cherevin, and some slick action sequences.
There is also a Bond like feel flowing through the film which isnt a bad thing.
I half expected the villain to say:No Mr.Bon.....i mean...Mr.Ryan i expect you to die!!!

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Jack Ryan : shadow recruit starring James Kirk

Yeah, Godzilla is a bit deeper. That's probably why I prefer King Kong, easier to watch:woot:

Do you like King Kong vs Godzilla?:hehe:

List compiled from last week into the weekend.

State of Play
The Town
Black Snake Moan

First Time Viewing
American Hustle - Bale actually made me laugh, think that's a first.
Felt like Cooper overacted a little. Loved the De Niro cameo.

The Wolf of Wall Street - Very entertaining in a shallow/despicable way.

Prisoners - holy hell that movie

Even as a little kid, I was letdown when Kong won. :hehe: It has not aged well at all, but I still get a kick out of watching it. :D
