So.... where do you get that it destroys fewer lives? A pot habit is fairly easy to ditch, and fairly easy to keep on a recreational basis. Alcohol is far more life consuming and life destroying.

It makes, and this is just from personal experience, people boring and lazy, without any drive to do things like keep a job....go to school...and that destroys the good life they could have had.

And I would argue that alcohol is easy to ditch too, because people do that all the time.

My point...they both suck and dont do either.

I think the Hype is worse than alcohol or marijuana combined.

I don't really hear about people dying from smoking marijuana. The 'bottle' on the other hand kills millions of people each year.

i didn't say a person would be stoned for 30 days; i'm saying that the THC affects your mental capacity in some way for as long as it is in your system - short term memory loss, lessened learning capabilities, poorer judgment. i think it affects some people more than others too.

you need Denver legalized marijuana in small quantities to cut down on long term alcohol abuse. Personally if you have to do either do weed. Weed is not addictive, doesnt make you think your a Don Juan, and its an excellent way to manage anger if used in small doses.

That has to do with what sort of chemical imbalances and such are already within the person. Everyone just doesn't smoke weed and all of a sudden become a sleepy idiot for 30 days. The whole problem is the perception of how it affects people because all anyone ever sees is the moronic teenager sittin around on his couch sayin "hey dude, you wanna smoke some more weed man?" as publicized by media and such.

You can't actually attribute memory loss, sudden learning problems, and bad choices as affects of marijuana just because someone has smoked it. There have been no conclusive studies to show that that is true, except in cases in which marijuana is heavily used at a frequent (daily) rate in which case, wouldn't anything used that often impair those abilities.

Another problem is is that people never wanna be responsible for their actions so they smoke weed or drink alcohol and act like idiots and blame it on the substance. It's like that guy everyone knows who goes to a party has like 3 beers and runs around screaming "im DRUNK" when everyone knows he's not even close.

I think you just don't realize just how many people smoke pot recreationally without letting it disrupt their work at all. If all you look at is lazy high school potheads who probably would have been lazy anyway, then maybe you'd get that impression. Alcohol is NOT just as easy to drop. Once you become an alcoholic, it is very very very hard to stop, and it can destroy you mentally and physically, much more easilly than pot can.

Once you become a pothead its very very hard to stop as well.

I see people who were alcoholics drop the habit all the time.

BECAUSE WEED IS NO MORE ADDICTIVE THAN COFEE!!!

no, no it's not, I know people who smoke who go for months without it.
yet alcoholics start trembling after a few hours sober.

Potheads are just bored . . . once we find something better to do, I don't feel the need to smoke . . . . . at least that's what all my pothead friends tell me . . . .

The real question here is what's worse: Alcoholism, or the Hype!? Cuz I post on here like a dopefiend!

There are rehab clinics all over the country where heroin and cocain addicts try to "kick the habit". And if someone came in complaining about weed addiction he would get laughed out of the place.

    I know that also.

But hardcore drug addicts [the alcoholics of weed] dont go months without it and are fine.

that has nothing to do with the drugs. there are people who are like that with sex and or food, I don't see either being illegal.
