DC has some of the most iconic characters to had ever been created.DC also has a large history spanning decades,as many readers have read many DC tales over the years. The question stands, what is the best or greatest DC Comic, event or arc you ever read?

Hmm...Superman: Secret Identity or Kingdom Come.

As I said in the Marvel version of this thread, this is pretty the best I can narrow it down to... :o

Single Issue: Detective #357
Arc: Batman: The Long Halloween
Creative Run: Wolfman/Perez on The New Teen Titans

Single Issue: JSA Christmas Issue
Arc: Green Arrow: Quiver
Mini: Batman: The Long Halloween
Creative Run: Geoff Johns' Flash

The New Frontier.

I've always wanted to read that. I hear the Absolute edition of that or something is out and I've been wanting to get it.

Hmm..this one is tough...especially for one, single comic.

But for Arc/TPB I have to go with nite-owl

The New Frontier.

 That was probably the one that stood out for me the most in all my TPB readings.

Kingdom Come and the Infinite Crisis JSA tie-ins.

Kingdom Come (and yes, I know there's a bunch of people here who think it's over-rated, but it's what got me into DC, and I've still yet to read a comic that drew me into it quite as much)

Justice is definitely looking to be a runner-up, depending on how the arc ends.

In-continuity, I'm partial to Grant Morrison's JLA.

Kingdom Come

There was a trade paperback of Batman Legends of the Dark Knight with his early years stories a while back following his training in Tibetan mountains. I thought that was pretty awesome.

Shaman. Written by Denny O'Neil, I think.

Kingdom Come and The Golden Age

Others of note:

Superman For All Seasons
Superman Birthright(that last page was just a tear jerker)
Superman Red Son
Batman The Long Halloween/Dark Victory
JLA Year One
DC The New Frontier

I'm still getting around picking some DC trades up.Come vacation time around X-Mas,expect a much larger list.

Graphic Novals: Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One, Kingdom Come, New Frontier, Superman for all Seasons, Batman Long Halloween and Dark Victory.
Oh and Crisis on Infinite Earths (merges all these different worlds and fixes up continuity of 100s of characters in one story, amazing).

Those are really great books.

and I'm working on reading Watchmen (Vertigo, so its technically DC)

Graphic Novels: Watchmen, Kingdom Come, COIE, Identity Crisis, Batman: Year One, Long Halloween and Dark Victory, Arkham Asylum, Dark Knight Returns, Broken City, Hush

Single Issue: Animal Man #26, For the Man Who Has Everything, Superman/Batman #26

Creative Run: Wolfman/Perez Titans, Geoff Johns Flash and Teen Titans, Jeph Loebs Superman/Batman

Mini: Definitely Kingdom Come
Issue: Nightwing #24 followed by Batman #574
Arc: Green Arrow: Quiver
Run: Dixon's Nightwing followed by PAD's Young Justice

Any other love for Golden Age?

Dark Knight returns/Watchmen/Kingdom Come...They changed everything
