Whats YOUR favorite movie?

In response to the thread question, it's a tie between...

and...

I notice a (hairy) pattern :hehe:

I have many favs...some because they're "good" films, and others simply for the camp value, etc.

I'm inclined to say that anything Tim Burton is solid. Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare before Xmas are my personal favs.

Gladiator's another film I can watch a billion times and not get bored.

Top Gun is my fav. Blade Runner follows closely behind.

Here's a picture of me from Halloween:

Nice. My buddy and I did Transformers/Decepticons one year. Best costumes ever.

The Empire Strikes Back

Has comedy, action, philospy, romance, and are great ending, what else do ya need from a film.

Hugely underrated film.

Mine are tied:

And both were directed by John McTiernan. Personally, I'd probably choose 'Die Hard', because it was really the first time that the action-comedy genre was introduced, and it really did it so well that it's really the definitive reason as to why we see so many of the action films we love today.

Yeah, I'd give Die Hard the edge too. It marks the first time this kind of movie had a real human being walking into this situation rather than a Stallone/Arnie type.

Burton is always a solid choice. Definitely a huge fan. Cronenberg and Lynch are both weird, crazy geniuses when it comes to film making. Not everyone can appreciate, but I'm sold.

Jaws

Terrific script and dialogue. I'll always remember my first experience with the film. I was only five, and guess what part I saw? It was the shot of the shark scaring the **** out of brody when he's chumming the water. It scared the **** out of me too. But then I was hooked. Months later, I knew so much of the film. I even memorized "Show me the way to go home."

The actors are all excellent, you love all of them, and each have chemistry. And of course Spielberg's mastery of suspense where you never see the shark until the third act.

The first time I saw that scene with the roast it got my heart pumping like hell. Just the subtle turn of the deck in the water and William's brilliant score got my blood boiling.

YES!! yes, you do!! i kid of course. btw your avvy is my favorite part. i could watch your avvy all day...GO JAWS, GO!! GET SOME!!

i was always fascinated by sharks as a kid...well, the whole ocean really, but i read so much about sharks. i always wanted to know about things that scare people. but they really have more to fear from us then we do from them.

After I saw jaws for the first time I was immediatly hooked on sharks. I got books out of the library that was way out of my reading level skills at five but I looked at the pictures. I carried them around with me all the time.

Plus, Roy Sheider in that film and especially the second film, reminds me of my dad and some of my uncle.

Christ, they need to do a remake of Creature From The Black Lagoon.

What the hell is happening with that?! Hopefully they delay it as long as possible, so maybe I can direct it someday.

My pitch would be have a King Kong like scope more vast. But keep it suspenseful and dark. Basically Alien like.
