Wheel of Fortune mispronunciation technicality angers fans

I don't get the hate towards Pat on this. It's obvious watching the clip he was going to give it to her without hesitation until the producers started yelling in his ear.

I thought this show died long ago.

It's the "Regis Philbin & Kelly Ripa" fiasco all over again. The producers won't give it to you if you pronounce it even slightly wrong.

I don't blame pat. But that's awful that she didnt get it because of that

That dumb rule would play hell on people with heavy regional accents. Like a Boston contestant trying to pronounce a phrase that's heavy on 'r' sounds. Or a Southerner trying to pronounce.... well, anything. :p

I would burn the stage down to the ground!

Haha , exactly. This show needs an enema!

That's ridiculously technical.

It was obvious that she said the correct answer.

I have to stand with Pat on this one. It isn't that hard to pronounce a "g".

And anyway, it's in their rules that each word must be spoken clearly and complete. That's why they solve...the...puzzle...like...this.

Either way, Zilla probably feels like she's being persecuted about this. Will now go into a 2 paragraph long story about the one time she was on Press Your Luck and got a Whammy meaning the host was totally trying to hook up with her.

My mom and Aunt watch this show like a religion, and they actually believe that the winner will be 9/10 the "pretty" girl of the group. And they even say that it's even tougher for the man to win. Really, everytime I watch this stupid show, it's always a woman winning, never a man.

Because woman just spend the whole day at home in the kitchen, they got time to practice this ****.:o

Well, that is what their life's purpose is.

Jeopardy and Wheel are both very technical when it comes to a contestant's answers.

Not everyone speaks the same way. This has to be one of the more nitpicky reasons not to award someone their prize money I've seen. It's obvious she had the right answer.
