Okay, Hellraiser is one of my favorite horror movies, right there with ANOES, friday the 13th ,TCM and halloween. All of those movies have recieved the ultimate treatment in dvd they deserve, most recently TCM was given a great ultimate edition. The hellraiser dvd only has a 24 min featurette, and even though it gives an interesting insight into the making of the film it still far from a great documented film of the production of this great horror movie. I wished anchor bay or whomever has the rights of the home video distribution of the hellraiser series would put their efforts into making an ultimate HR 2-disc set. With a cool metal case with some great new images of chains or what ever masochistic tool they please to put on the cover. With trailers, tv spots and new commentary tracks with barker speaking about his movie masterpiece years later and ashley laurence telling stories of her time on set and so on.
A second disc featurring two documentaries. the first could be something like the cenobite diaries: the making of hell raiser, and in depth 90 min documentary covering, concepts, story development, script, story and character concepts,to filming, with on-set behind the scenes footage, and interviews with everyone involved in the film, including andrew robinson.
Covering also special effects and everything that has to do with the production of the film.
Then a documentary about pinhead and the cenobites. interviews with doug bradley and clive barker talking about the iconic character and barker talking vividly about all of the ideas he came with before filming the movie. Showing fan reaction about the film itself. With footage of different horror conventions and some fangoria people talking about the film's reputation and its influence in later films like maybe saw and hostel(chains and torture anyone?) this doc could be and hour long.
Then poster galleries storyboards and such. Plus a booklet with pictures and notes from barker himself and other crew people involved.
What do you guys say? lets show some love for the Ol' pin head shall we
