Whatever happened to Steve Guttenberg?! Seriously! Back in the `80s he was one of the biggest stars! He was in Diner, the Police Academy franchise, Cocoon, Short Circuit, and his biggest hit Three Men and A Baby. Then...in 1990 the sequel to Three Men and a Baby is released. And BOOM he's gone! :csad:

I'm pretty sure I saw him at the supermarket the other day. Working the register.

You knew how good Guttenberg was when you saw Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach. :o

I doubt its true. The role was originally written for John Belushi. Then, when he passed away they re-wrote the part for Bill Murray.

Yup! Guttenberg made that franchise cool. When he left and you saw the films without him you realized that there was no point in making a Guttenberg-less Police Academy movie.

Yeah, I haven't watched the Police Academy movies in a few years but I used to love them as a kid. My favorite scene was in part 4 when the blonde lady with the big boobs jumps into the water and when she gets out her t-shirt is wet and you can see her nipples. :o

PA 1 still remains one of the funniest films I have ever seen.

Yeah whatever happened to Guttenberg? He was doing alright as an actor and then *zap* he dissapeared from mainstream movies.

I liked only 4 out of 7 PA films.

I also wonder what happened with him

mostly tv movies, i saw him playing santa in a film over christmas.

back in the day he was the man

He is the type of actor who will have a moment .... and make the most of it, which I think he did.

He had good comic timing and was handsome in an 80s sort of way but his acting was limited and as such he had a short shelf-life.

Hopefully he was wise with the money he made and is living the good life now.

A few months back he was being interviewed in a show over here. He looked to still be in fairly decent shape for a guy his age, although his face has aged badly. I think he was doing stage stuff mostly, nothing well known, but he seemed cheery enough.

The Police Academy movies were not as good with Mauser as the anti-moron then Harris. Harris made for some funny moments, morseo then Mauser.

Ben Stiller's the new guttenberg.

Only idiot can say this.

Still is very experienced dude. His parents were stars of some comedy show, and he has been in movie/TV industry since 80s. He was making spoof short films and taking part in Saturday Night Live episodes.

thats cute. You assume I'm insulting ben stiller... you must hate guttenberg then.
