How will you do it? Give them to your kids? Sell them? Throw them away? Even if you keep them to the very end, will you have an opinion with what to do with them? Or will you leave it for other people to decide?

I ask because I'm studying archive science and we are talking about community/cultural preservation. I wonder if there would ever be an interest in a site that stores and displays comic books. Think of all the comics that have been created over the decades. There is such a huge amount of characters, genres, titles and and subjects. There isnt a lack of material, but would there be a lack of interest in such an place?

I'd donate mine to a museum since they are a dying American art form.:csad:

I wanted to get the updated Spider-Man Marvel Masterworks because I like the new cover designs, but I didn't want to get them while I still had the older ones, so I was going to give it to my nephew because he's young and I'd like to get him into it, but he didn't want it and neither did my brother. So I'm most likely going to hold on to them til I die.

I gave all my comics to a good home as lame as that is to say. Some chick took them.

I'll keep Secret Warriors , Kingdom Come , The Books of Doom , Red Skull : Incarnate and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen though.

I have few comics I want kept. Have TONS of Simpsons comics, a few Futurama, some Fangoria horror ones, etc.

I'm keeping my Man-Thing ones I got used, those in safe. I also have the Best of paperback with TONS of comics in it. And prequel one.

Give em away at Halloween instead of candy. That's what some writers do.

I started collecting in the late 60's....and had to sell 99% of my collection in 1984 to a comic store. I know I didn't get top dollar, but I needed money bad. What little I have bought since then...I will give to family, friends, and anyone who wants them.

I don't want to throw away my comics, ever. I believe I will always manage to get enjoyment of them. The only ones who can ever hope to have them are my future children. But if they dont want them, I guess I'll have to get buried with them.

I want them.

I gave my comics to my nephews in hopes that they reach them the way they reached me. In this day and age of Jersey Shore and smart phones they need all the help they can get.

I'm gonna wait until there is an easy way to digitize them...I'll digitize all of them, keep my original #1's, and either giveaway, or recycle the rest.

Any number one issues or issues with specific stories that were poignant are being kept in sealed bags. Back in the 60s no one thought that Amazing Fantasy or that X-Men #1 they bought at the corner store would ever be worth anything.

I was doing some part time work at a book recycling plant back in 2008 and someone actually threw away Death of Hawkeye and the entire Batman Death in the Family series, as well as the first G.I. Joe from Marvel. Those mother****ers are in my room sealed to this day.

I actually have started to give certain books away to the kids in the neighborhood. I'm running out of space and these kids around here need to freakin' sit down and read something cool every once in a while. :oldrazz:

However, when it comes down to it I have a pretty solid collection of comics and will probably hang on to them and pass them down to my son/daughter or someone who I feel will appreciate them.

Think of all the trees you helped kill by buying the paper just to see Superman or the Avengers. Recycle them and let them become candy wrappers instead.

i'm actually at the point where i'm considering selling a lot of my comics. they're really just collecting dust on the shelf and someone else could probably really enjoy them. there are some issues that are just too sentimental to get rid of but ive started to put some on ebay :/

I should probably start selling also. I go through phases where I'll want to read them again but after losing interest to collect more , it's probably a good financial decision.

i'm kinda the same way. but i can get the digital copies and clear up some clutter around the house too if i start getting em out of here

I have a space issue with my collection at the moment. It just isn't practical to continue buying single issues. I'm going to just start buying paperbacks and see what I can replace and get rid of.

Mannnnnnn !The really good ones i having creamated with my ass!!( i want my ashes mixed with Giant Sized X-men #1. I always wanted to be a Xman! haha) The others i pass em out at Halloween! These kids need to read more and" Youngblood" and "The Spider Clone saga" will only rot your brain half as much as " Grand Theft auto!"

I might pass them down the line if they are interested but if not I will sell the more valuable ones and give away the rest.
