For those who don't know, Penultimate=time before last...

The reason i say penultimate is that you are probably going to try it now and make a special effort to not groan (thus making it your last time)....

This is really for the older members who are degrading in health. I feel i've somewhat joined them...

I actually had an american neighbour who didn't know what it was when i used it in a conversation. She said you guys never use that phrase

since using 'last time'** would have made the thread title too long, I used penultimate instead and decided to perhaps clue people in before the random posts about its meaning come flooding in.

edit: *** i mean time before last instead of last time

But "last time" uses less letters than penultimate

When was the Penultimate time you bent over and didn't make a groan getting up?

When was the last time you bent over and didn't make a groan getting up?

Which one of these is longer?

I hope no one thought I was trying to obfuscate regarding the question.
For those of you who don't know, that means to be evasive, unclear or confusing.

Penultimate is going to be the newest Hype! word, and used often. Just like "un-virgin".

I see, the little man feels free to be silly and mouth off, as long as he has his 2 trusted ninja bodyguards at his side. Cool.
