I mean, when it comes to SHIELD members from the comics who are in any way notable, we're already getting Coulson, Mockingbird and Deathlok in the same show but what ever happened to Quake and Abigail Brand who are two of the most important SHIELD Agents in the comics?

maybe introduce in Season 3? I mean Coulson as director might not trust a lot of people to work with him so he likely keep the circle small

You have your answer right there: this isn't the comics.

There was an online AMA interview with Clark Gregg over the summer, where he teased the fan base by mentioning he was currently reading "Secret Warriors" while getting ready for AOS season 2 (this was discussed earlier in it's own AOS thread: "Clark Gregg Aka Agent Coulson Q&A on Reddit RIGHT NOW !").

To save you, the HYPE reader, some time from reading through a great interview:

Hooray, Clark Gregg!
First, I think you're awesome - really one of my favorite actors. I couldn't stop smiling during your entire Nerdist interview. Second, two questions:
1) What is your favorite book, or book you wish you had the time to read but haven't? 2) If you could write for any comic -- apart from a "Coulson, Agent of SHIELD" series -- what would it be and why?
Thanks so, so much!

  1. There are two. I keep starting Goldfish by Donna Tartt but then I have to put it down to go do an AMA reddit or whatever this is. I also never ever read the Sci-fi classic Snowcrash. But I will take it with me when I go on vacation.
  2. I'm really digging Secret Warriors.

If the "Secret Warriors" comic run continues to show its shadowy influence on the AOS show (a version of John Garret, LMDs-via-Koenig, Fury's Secret Bases, possibility of the Zodiac cartel beyond AGENT CARTER, possibility of other Great Wheel members, etc) then Skye will very well likely prove to be either Brand or Quake, with the assumption that drippy-mcdoodle-dad shown in the first season's finale is alien or another empowered being. Skye's possible character development has been discussed to the point of nausea, along with the "Skye-is-just-Skye" camp, although I am still holding on to hope that she will develop into Jessica Drew, a.k.a. Spider-Woman.

Can't introduce every character, gotta spread it out. Probably want see Brand until S.W.O.R.D. is introduced (probably in the movies).

I thought Brand would be logical to introduce, especially after the Chitauri attacked, it would make sense to have a team dedicated to watching space.

Who knows, maybe she's been right in front of our eyes since episode 1, and even she doesn't know it yet.

Isn't Brand a rights thing? Debuted in X-Men and is half mutant

Brand is definitely an X-Men character in the comics. All of her important storylines occur in X-Men comics. Same can be said of SWORD, actually.

My question is: Where is Clay Quartermain, Jimmy Woo, GW Bridge, Contessa de Fontaine...
