Hmm this ended up being tougher than i anticipated.

    1. The Avengers (It may not be as thematically rich or as well told a story as Cap 2 and 3 but as a comic book fan, seeing that movie and all those heroes was a feeling that just can never be replicated, and that counts for a lot IMO)
    2. Civil War
    3. Winter Soldier

Honestly, it doesn't make my top five. I enjoyed the action although I didn't feel it was some quantum leap like some say. I enjoyed the characters mostly but its taking the MCU someplace I don't want it to go and the narrative failed for me caught between Bucky and The accords.

essentially I enjoyed most of it but there were lots of WTF this is just going to ignored or no ones going to refute this absurd thing and then the end act just left me unsatisfied.

There you go the heathen strikes again.

1- Avengers (mainly for the feels)
2- Winter Soldier (probably the 'best' MCU 'film')
    3- Civil War (nerdgasms galore)
4- Iron Man (nostalgia, plus it really is a great movie)
5- Three way tie between Guardians, Ultron, and IM3

Nowhere to be found in the top 5 Marvel Studios movies. So far it's:

    1. Iron Man 3
    2. Guardians of the Galaxy
    3. Iron Man
    4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    5. Ant-Man

(The last three positions could probably switch around according to how I feel, but those are the best 5 movies from the studio IMO).

It doesn't. It's great, but probably on the bottom half of what I think are the top five.

    1. Winter Soldier
    2. Guardians of the Galaxy
    3. The Avengers
    4. Iron Man
    5. The Incredible Hulk (Of the Phase One origin films, it's the one I've re-watched the most behind Iron Man)

Well, I think it's a brilliant movie. I just love Shane Black's writing and storytelling, and he didn't pull any punches (as far as it was possible in the 'MCU').

Iron Man 3 is a fun and action-packed rollercoaster ride, with a focus on characters and story (which is rich and varied, and actually goes to many different places), instead of fan-service. Black pulls the rug from under your feet, while staying true to the heart of the Iron Man mythology (including the Mandarin, which is actually a very fitting and smart adaptation, and completely misunderstood by most fans, who can't see beyond the Trevor Slattery deception - which wasn't the point at all).

I think it's the best written one, and I just love the unique tone, which balances superhero action, biting satire, paranoia, the Michael Crichton-style science-fiction thriller and even a little Christmas whimsy.

It's an incredibly satisfying and satiating package, and I love every second of it.

Shane Black did it again, that ol' fox!

And as a bonus: I love the atmospheric cinematography by John Toll and the majestic musical score composed by Brian Tyler.
