of a major superhero film franchise w/ Spider-Man (at least since 2007, when Sam Raimi's third movie was released)? I'm going off the top of my head, the others that immediately come to my mind is the Salkind family and later, the Cannon Group's handling of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies, Warner Bros. handling of the Batman franchise during the Joel Schumacher era, and 20th Century Fox's handling of their Marvel properties (i.e. Daredevil/Elektra, Fantastic Four, and just about any X-Men movie not directed by Bryan Singer or Matthew Vaughn, although I think that The Wolverine was pretty well received also).

I think it has a good chance of topping those other examples with the leaks.

We're just lucky Cannon never made their Spider-Man movie.

From the studio that brought you Deathwish, Masters of the Universe, and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace.

Anyone wondering whether we'd missed an early comic book movie classic with Cannon's Spider-Man should rest assured that the world probably dodged a bullet. As Pyun admits himself, producer Menahem Golan didn't really "understand" Spider-Man as conceived by Marvel; instead, he imagined the character as a literal giant, mutant spider with eight hairy arms. "He didn't understand the whole teenage angst aspect that made him so popular," Pyun said.
