Was it me, or did he seemingly disappear during the final fight, up until his showdown with Pyro? There seemed to be more coverage of Beast and Wolverine going at it instead of the younger students. Everyone had their respective fight moment, but other than the quick icewall he created to block the brotherhood followers ("the pawns"), he was nowhere to be found.

Now that we've seen him in a combat situation in the film, I guess Ratner made him more reflective of his comic book counterpart, and less agressive, despite the advancement of his powers. And again, it's one of those things from X2 that really bothered me, because I still think he could have saved Jean to a degree at Alkaline lake, by freezing the water around her. I mean, if he can freeze a pond the size of a basket ball court with one finger, how could Ratner feel that he wouldn't be valuable on the battle field?.. I guess it would appear that Iceman still got the cold shoulder anyway... *sigh*

Oh my God, here we go again. How was he supposed to save Jean?

It's pretty clear from the movies that his powers can ONLY be directed from himself. So how is he going to freeze all that water?

It was also clear that Jean was forcing Nightcrawler to stay inside, so that means if Iceman tried something it would've been the same.

Simple... "If" Jean would have allowed herself to be rescued, Nightcrawler could have teleported Iceman to the roof of the X-Jet, Iceman reinforce Jean's tek wall by freezing the surrounding water, Nightcrawler teleport Jean inside the X-Jet, Nightcrawler then teleports Iceman back inside the X-Jet. How complicated can that be?

- Option "B" -

Nightcrawler transfers some of his teleporting powers over to Rogue. Nightcrawler teleports Iceman on top of the X-Jet to freeze the water surrounding Jean, while Rogue teleports Jean back inside. Even less complicated.

By thew way, I also said he could save her "TO A DEGREE"... Not completely.

OMG I AGREE WITH SOMETHING YOU SAID!!!!

Plus Jean "made a choice," and that pretty much trumps everything!! :D

Well, that's a splendid idea, but to get Phoenix, Jean must die. That is the reason nobody saved her.

More complicated than forgetting to understand that they are being SURROUNDED by rushing water and a flood.

I refuse to believe that Iceman who is still an untrained student and novice could freeze a wall or the water long enough to let them escape.

That's even more pointless.

More like not at all. Once again, Jean was FORCING Nightcrawler not to teleport outside. He wouldn't have let anyone try to save her.

Why must we question everything that happens

The Vile One must get a ***** from arguing with everyone on message boards. :(

Ummm I gotta ask this, the entrance in the final fight, why did Kitty have to jump down with him, ice slide anyone?

Bull****.
Not really. Creating an ice slide would have required time, money and special effects to get right. The same reason the Colossus/Juggernaut fight was never shot.

Yeah I doubt it wouldve been more expensive than the shot they had.

once again that is bull****

why have him in the film to do nothing? Besides Juggernaut had no real one on one fight like X1 or X2 fights. Their fight would have been awesome. It could have been Wolverine and Juggernaut in the final battle, then Colossus would go help out, something, anything!

I don't think the phasing would require nearly the same amount of money and effort as an ice slide. Phasing is a pretty simply effect.

Now that rogue is cured, she'll call him the Icecream-man instead.

as for the thread. He was... I don't know. Doing stuff elswhere.

rumors has it that there is an ice slide and a juggernaut vs colossus fight

Just remove that godawful ice skating scene and there you go, money.

Iceman looked like he needed to poop everytime he used his powers

sad.....very sad

Ice Man found an empty corner & he let out some issues & screamed out things like

"Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooogggggggggggggguuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeee, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

Up until Wolverine asked him to take out Pyro.

Again, why is it so hard to believe that Iceman doesn't have that capability? Do you not remember when he created that THICK icewall separating Wolverine and Stryker from being captured. He did it from at least 25 feet away (from that secret passage doorway), AND he did it with just one hand. Plus, it was on the inside of the mansion with a limited amount of moisture to freeze. He's surrounded by water at the lake, and you still think he's incapable of assisting in her rescue?... :(

Yes. There was TOO much water to freeze in the amount of time available. Plus, I doubt Iceman would even have the balls to get out of the X-jet to save everyone. :)

I wasn't indicating that he freeze the entire lake, but at least a portion of it, to protect Jean while the rescue party saved her... But I digress.

I just thought it was a ripoff not to see Iceman in a combat situation... It would have been great to see him fighting with oversized ice fists, or sharp daggers fending off attackers. And it's not like those props would have cost much to make for him to use. Hell, I probably would have bid on them on ebay if they were available. Although he did look like he was going to make "poopy" in his nice little X-Man uniform when Wolverine coaxed him to fight Pyro. I wonder if he would $#!t ice cubes...
