If you were looking for a new place to live, would you rather live in the city or the suburbs?

The city. I'd live somewhere on the LRT line, I wouldn't even buy a car, and I'd find a way to buy everything I needed in the community.

Urban sprawl will be the death of western civilization :p

I like excitement and though the country is peaceful, I would go stircrazy!

City, for pretty much the same reason as above. :o

If I had the financial means to do it, I'd live in Canon Beach, Oregon. It's a cool little coastal resort town an hour outside of Portland with no corporate presence whatsoever. This picture from our vacation there last year pretty well says why I'd like to live there:

I just visited that town on my trip to Portland last May. GREAT town! Beautiful rainy days on the beach!!

I've always wondered what it would be like to live in one of those gated suburban neighborhoods.

Ahh, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's truly beautiful there. I like that it's a quiet little town with only locally owned businesses, too. If you want the corporate stores and restaurants or city or nightlife thing you can always head into Portland, too. If you get that way again, also check out Astoria and Seaside, which are North of Canon Beach. Also cool little towns. There's just something about Haystack and the atmosphere of the town, though, that makes Canon Beach special.

If I was a millionaire, I'd live across the street from Central Park.

Suburbs aren't "the country". They're small towns and communities surrounding large cities. You always have very quick access to the excitement of city life.

I had some of the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life in that town! And PIZZA's my favorite food to eat when I'm hungriest.

But there was this little restaurant/pub place maybe 30 yards from the pier that went down to the beach. They had the perfect brick(stone) oven, and I enjoyed that slice of Pepperoni in Euphoria as the rains came down!

It was and is one of my three best pizza experiences EVER!

Hmmm....could have been either Fultano's or Pizza A'Fetta. Can't remember which one has the stone oven.

i misread this thread. my last post i put down where i do live and always lived. i was born and raised in brooklyn, n.y.

but i wouldn't mind living in Italy...being with my people :)

A lot of wealthy bigwigs here in the city usually live in the suburbs in their 5 times larger than my family's house mansion types. I currently live in a townhouse that's in a suburbia type city that's kind of diverse on its own and I commute to Chicago, so I don't really care either way. A lot of the youngbloods on my team all live in studios down in the city.

City, though I'd like to leave. Other than the Inner Harbor there's nothing really to do here in Baltimore City...people here act like its a damn amusement park.

I can't decide. I don't like to be near alot of people at one time and the city is pretty crowded, so I'd probably live in the suburbs.

Kinda funny this thread was made... I'm about to move into an apartment in the suburbs near a town about 30 miles away from me
