What the hell is up with this title? They released the first two, then a few months later they released a directors cut of the first two combined into one issue (if I remember correctly) and now the 3rd issue is gone.

LAME.

This title was doing pretty well until it disapeared, too.

The writer is busy I assume.

I'm dropping it for the simple fact that we already see that Hulk comes back right as rain.

I'm not going to buy it just to see Wolvie and Hulk fight.

Dude, did you REALLY expect one of them to be offed? Really?

ULTIMATE HULK VS. WOLVERINE is yet another example of the folly of handing assignments to write comics to writers from movies/TV without the slightest consideration being taken to their schedule. Most movie/TV writers, despite their professed love for comic books, naturally see it as a "part time side job" when it comes to what pays the bills regularly, which is TV/movie writing. I haven't met a comic written by a TV/movie writer that wasn't good and late very often in a while. Usually the first 1-2 issues are okay (although #2 was plenty late) and then after that the schedule gets erratic.

Hopefully BEYOND! with Dwayne McDuffie (who started on comics but wrote for DC cartoons for years, including credits on STATIC SHOCK and JL/U) doesn't suffer the same fate. Heinberg denied his OC-work as being the cause of YA's lateness (he came shy of blaming it on Cheung the artist). And naturally Kevin Smith is the poster-child for this sort of problem. When was the last time you tuned into a new episode of a TV show and read the line, "Sorry, this episode is delayed because the writer is very busy. Just be patient and enjoy our other fine TV shows and commercials". Fans of late comics get this all the time. As proud as Marvel and DC are whenever they snag some "Hollywood" writer, it always results in books that are late.

There's a lesson in that, namely that schedules need to be taken into consideration before the book becomes late, not after, but it goes unlearned.

No.I just wasn't expecting Hulk to come back in Vol.2 as he did in Vol.1.

I was under the impression that Hulk's arc would end in the mini instead of the actual Ultimates book where he was considered dead.

What I don't understand is why they don't WAIT until every issue is turned in BEFORE they release the first issue. I can understand fer an ongoing, but a MINI SERIES is a whole different thing.

Well, seeing his return in the latest issue of Ultimates only got me more excited about this miniseries...we might have a basic understanding that Hulk got out of there fine and everything, as I'm sure Wolverine did as well...as Wolverine25th said...did you really think one of these characters was going to die?

And I'm sure there is going to be a little more than just giant fight scenes. If that's all the rest of the comic was but fighting than why would # 3 be so delayed? Why would you even really need the writer for? The artwork is what is truly brilliant of this miniseries. :o

I fully expected him to return in Vol. 2 especially after the beginning of Vol. 2 where they tried to nuke him, and then he got away. Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine just gives the in between of when he disappeared after the nuke and probably when he returns in the latest Ultimates issue.

I really don't see why that would make Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine any less enjoyable though. But to each their own. I'm pumped for it and I hope that # 3 comes out SOMETIME this year. Heh.

i hope that the series never finishes HAAAAAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Its possible. Daredevil Target still hasn't been finished. :o

It ticks me off that they are still on issue 2. I hope they don't end it early like they did Ultimate Extinction.

Issue 3 is slated to come out in 2 weeks.

Maybe.
