So, who's the lone loser?

What's sad is that I wouldn't be surprised if that Batman was his dad, and he was forced to wear the Robin costume.

Oh yeah if you dress up your kid when they don't want too! you might just be a comic book fanatic! HAHA

Casual, I don't have the balls to dress up. Never dressed up for a movie or convention before...I'd feel like an idiot.

I have limited knowledge, comic books, and money, but I'd probably still dress up as Batgirl, or various batman female foes (being not too scantily clad). I mean, it only happens once a year, there's other freaks doing it, why not join in the fun?

This may not count for much since I have never been to a comic-con (live too far away).

I'm more than the casual fan, but you won't see my ass dressing up or any of that. If anything, I guess I'm that guy who you wouldn't know is a huge geek unless we had a conversation about it or you were a friend.

:o

There needs to be an In-between the guys who dress up sometimes know nothing but need the attention, then there are guys who know issue number, years, months etc. but dont dress up. I would say im a fanatic in that I know WAY to much about comics but im also aware that I'am surrounded everyday by people that have no clue what im talking about when i say "Speed Force" or "Oracle". lol

Let's say you were at a comic convention, there are lots of different fans but if you were there which would you most likely be...

a "casual fan"?

Meaning you love the medium just as much as everyone, but you probably wouldn't dress up like a certain character. Maybe a shirt with your favorite character on it but nothing more extreme than that.

Or would you be...

a "fanatic"?

Meaning you love the medium so much that you WILL dress up like your favorite character to show everyone there how much you love what it's all about.

"Casual" for sure. I wear a simple Joker shirt to TDK while others paint their faces.

Yeah, that about fits me, too.

I'm a fanatic. I've had lengthy arguments about the nature of comics. In college I wrote a thesis on Batman. I turned down sex once to see a Batman movie.

But I'm also sort of casual. I don't go to all the cons dressed up like Ragman (He's my favorite hero. Look him up.) I'm not creepy. I've got a family and friends and I even have my own job and co-workers and everything.

I think there should be a section for "Fanatic, but not a freak." or "Hardcore casual". Something in between the deep end and the casual.

I'm a casual fan.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that guy dressed up as Flash kind of looks like Alice Cooper?

I think it's his nose and his eyes/the look he is giving.

I'm a casual fan . I am kind of shy and keep a low profile so i'd only do it if a ton of other people were dressed up . I go out every year on halloween in a costume so I dont think a convention should be that much different .

I don't dress up for conventions but I ( and those who know me ) would certainly consider myself a fanatic about comics & sci-fi. I did land a job as Batman for a McDonalds promotional campaign once. :brucebat:

ultra casual, I don't think I could go to one of those things with so many fat people in spandex getting nerd hard on's. I see the pictures and it just looks a little creepy. I love comics and all that, I just wish they'd tone it down a bit or a lot and then maybe I'd go.

casual fan who would laugh at the kid dressed as robin because he has the wrong hair colour

Look at that fatass Robin

could you imagine:
crazy batdad! 'now robin show our frends your routine'
*embarrassed fatass robin tries and fails to do acrobatics*

Most likely casual. Although It would be cool to dress up as the question or someone that isn't in tights and spandex. Lol.
