sure, he is Cyclops but the dude got heavily underused in the X-Men films. i think he would make an awesome Green Lantern

While I think James Marsden is a fine actor, just about every character he's ever played is some how *****ed over in the story. It's like they sign him up for roles where he's cheated on, pushed around by some other alpha male or he plays some weak willed man. I just associate him with that and I PERSONALLY wouldn't want him as a GL.

Also...

Are DC trying to sort of make GL more of a joker (not the character joker) but more of a one-line spouting "jerk" along the lines of Deadpool? Maybe not to Deadpool's level, but similar?

If Ryan Reynolds isn't interested, then my guess is Kyle will get the nod. John would have to be a 'mature' actor to generate much buzz, and I doubt that Warner Bros. wants to spend the money for Will Smith, even though they should. A lot more violent stunts need to be done with the ring as well.

I really doubt that Green Lantern (and Flash) will be in BvS or Justice League.

The JL movie line-up is looking like - Batman, Superman, WW, Cyborg and Aquaman.

So, either WB would make another solo Green Lantern movie in future (I really doubt it.) or make a team-up movie with Flash (GL & Flash, again not sure.) or they would wait till Justice League 2 to introduce Flash and GL.(most likely.)

Either way, GL fans will have to wait.

i think this is going to be the case too. there's been no rumors at all of gl or flash. five is already a pretty big cast of heroes to deal with in terms of screen time, i'm guessing flash and gl come later, if at all.

You are probably right, which is a big mistake in my mind, to me there's no Justice League without Flash and Green Lantern. In cases where there was five instead of seven members, they should be there with the famous three, they are equally important as the trinity for the Justice League to feel complete.

Next would be Martian Manhunter and Aquaman. In that order, as Aquaman is the one that can easily be left out and has been in the past. But for some reason they decided to include him and Cyborg who hasn't even been the part of the Justice League, until recent reboot. It seems that stupid New 52 have managed to affect DCCU, which has been my fear for some time now.

Anyway, since Cyborg is already included, I'd go for Hal Jordan and have none other but Jensen Ackles play him.

Otherwise, if there was to be Justice League movie with trinity and Green Lantern and Flash (as there should), I wouldn't mind John Stewart instead, for some ethnic diversity. I'm still not entirely sure about the choice of actor, but since "Ray" I've been very favourable to Jamie Foxx.
