First Avenger which Invaders do you want for First Avenger Captain America?

I'm all for the Invaders appearing in FA:CA as long as they are essentially normal humans with special combat abilities. Bucky and Union Jack are musts, with Spitfire and Human Torch as secondary team members. Spitfire could be a former Olympic sprinter that does recon & Torch could be a pyro expert that welds a flame thrower. (There's a lot of potential for a little in-joke when he's introduced to Evans as his codename: The Human Torch due to the FF movies, of course!) I just don't want to overcrowd the Marvel movie universe with super-beings this early in it's development (1940's). I'd rather have Cap as the only one of his kind with semi-super powers. That's the ONLY reason why I wouldn't want Namor to be introduced yet. He could possibly make a cameo by foiling a SS submarine plot, but never show him in acton & leave it as unexplained by the Allied forces. Just hint that it really was him (fanboys will know!)...that way he has an introduction of sorts to draw on later if Marvel can ever reclaim his film rights. If they decide to super-enhance the other Invaders later in other movies & sequels, then that's fine, just not yet.

i dont think the Invaders will be in the sequel. if theyre gonna have powers do it in the first movie. like ive said i cant see people not trying to make their very own Cap. but its not really neccessary i suppose. i can do with either or. but im not against them having powers. i dont think it takes away from Cap in the least bit.

yea i still say it would probably be best to be non powered invaders to be cost effective for the film itself. Though i wouldnt mind seeing powered ones. But i agree it kinda lessen's the appeal of cap being unique if all these other places have super powered heroes in the 40s.

Yea that is why i think/hope they will go with non powered invaders like union jack and then if they go with guys like spitfire/the andriod human torch. They are just special forces type of folks, like someone said spitfire can be an athetlic sprinter and recon person, and torch could be a pyro expert and all that.

Just had a crazy thought. What if they try to shoehorn other characters into the Invaders team? Like other Marvel characters that could easily fit into the WWII freedom fighter mold?

For example, alot of characters in Marvel's The Twelve mini series could easily be in the invaders. Maybe even have just cameos and no lines. Like Cap releases a bunch of em to help fight but only a few stick around with Cap while he finishes his mission.

I actually think it could work. What'd be REALLY cool is if they could do Vindicator from Alpha Flight as an Invader. Not the supersuit one, but an early version. Kinda like Union Jack but for Canada.

well i think it was confirmed that there would be like 4-5 months, and since there is a wide group of characters who were actual invaders. they probably have a good list to pick from, the characters not tied up in any legal issues. And i doubt they would put to many characters in. case it will probably just be steve/bucky and like 3 invaders, peggy, skull, the doctor guy, and probably howard stark, and the president at main/supporting/cameo roles in the film.

1) I dont think the Invaders will play a major role in the film
2)Captain America could be in a movie with a million other superheroes and he will still be unique because he freaking Captain America

roach it was stated by joe and kevin friege that the invaders would be in the second half of the film. So say the film being like 2hr10mins lets say. They will probably be in a good 30-35mins of the film.

I'm not sure what their source is, but Comicvine has said that Johnston said there will be 6 Invaders... not sure if that includes Cap and Bucky or not (I hope so).

It probably includes Bucky and Cap. 6 superheroes in one film is already a lot.

I only want Union Jack, Bucky & Red Guardian. One hero for all of the major Ally players (well 2 for the US).

Namor & Human Torch wouldn't fit in the realistic setting Marvel is making for the movies, they'd fit in during the modern times but not in WW2. Cap, Bucky, Jack & Red could all be kept under-cover, Namor & Torch? Not so much.

Regarding rights to certain characters, here was Kevin Feige:

Well, Fox has mutants and Sony/Universal…Universal doesn’t have anything. Sony’s got Spidey and Ghostrider, and those family of characters. And Fox has X-Men and Fantastic Four and Daredevil and those family of characters. But any mutants in particular? Mutants are X-Men.

Hence Namor can still show up in either Marvel or most likely Fox, since Universal has basically emptied out their Marvel cache. He says family of characters, and I believe Namor would fall into FF, hence will not be an Invader or be featured in Avengers.

And as far as taking back rights of certain properties:

Feige: You know all the contracts are different and they’re all very specific. So for the time being the projects within those other studios are licensed films I think will be there for awhile.

^^ Yeah, I really doubt that Android Torch or Namor will be in this movie. More likely, they will have Union Jack, Torro, maybe someone like Red Guardian, but they would all be non-powered special operatives.

well we dont know yet in the marvel studios verse if there was alot of super powered characters running around at the time cap first appeared or not yet. Plus like i and others said if there was alot of powered guys we kinda lose the uniquiness of cap being special. Unless these powered guys appear after cap first shows up. Now i am not saying i wouldnt want to see namor or the android torch. We still just dont know for sure where character rights lie and what they actually want to do with invaders yet.

Or having him lead a team of supers in WW2 could forshadow why he'd be the best choice for leader in Avengers....we know he's the leader but the GA would wonder why Stark isnt in charge

probably we will just have to see how the invaders come out and then ultimately in avengers who ends up being leader and all that. though i do think it will probably start out with stark/fury being in charge. then by end we see why cap is a leader and he becomes the figurehead and all that.
