Which look for the Goblin do you like best?

Alex Ross

Movie version.

Some combination of movie and Ross.

Classic.

Much as I hate to say it, the classic costume just wouldnt work on screen. I like the organic look of Ross's Goblin, but I HATE the sword. He shouldnt look like he is from the Lord of the Rings. I like the military explanation as to why Osborn built the costume and glider, I just dont care for the static looking mask.

I'm gonna go with a combination of Ross and movie version. The cloak and hood is fine, but he shouldnt be too covered up. All of that cloth flying around while he is on the glider had got to become annoying. :cwink:

The issue is the face, I think, hence why Ultimate Goblins have been transformed into Goblins.

All the moaners really haven't offered a completely satisfying alternative to the movie mask (in that the alternative would satisfy most of the detractors).

Costume-wise, I don't think it really matters.

the classic goblin is the best, but i can see why and i agree with sam of what costume he chose for the green goblin, sometimes its hard to translate things into movies, if it was the comic-book goblin, there would be alot of spandex.

I like the armor bodysuit deal, that works as "realistic" but I wish he had the alex ross mask and hood/ tunic. That would have been perfect, for me atleast.

Armour bodysuit with the Alex Ross cloak and mask on top.

the movie green goblin costume i loved, my favorite is the classic green goblin costume, alex ross green goblin, eeek, not good.

They're all so sexy.
Classic, but Ross' does give a more sneeky, creepy feel.

For me I would have definetly prefered a mix between Ross's and the movie version.

Love the movie version of Goblin, I like everything about it.

I would have preferred something that would have allowed more of Dafoe's performance and expressiveness to show through.

i think ross's version would have been the perfect combination. the classic is still my favorite, obviously, but it would have been really hard to translate into the movie. especially the mask.

I...really don't know which I prefer. I mean, obviously the comic version is the best, but as others have mentioned, it probably couldn't work on film. Ross' design is too, I dunno, simple. Especially for a movie. While the movie version certainly has its faults, I think it's intentions were in the right place.

I think a combination between the Ross version shown and the movie version would've worked wonderfully. I agree with others when they've said that the classic look is the best, but wouldn't work on screen.

Yeah, that sounds good. A cloak or something would have given the costume a much more dramatic look.

The mask is scary, but Dafoe can twist his face with the best of them. I think Dafoe in creepy makeup would have been more enjoyable to watch. Not decided on whether it would have made more sense within the movie to have the high-tech outfit for the rich guy or the Apocalypse Now-type imagery of crazed rich eccentric applying makeup/rubbery mask to self as a disguise. Similarly, I like the funky armor yet it would also have worked to have Dafoe's wiry limbs colored green and hitting Spidey directly.

I agree, DaFoe would've looked good with prosthetics on. A couple years ago they showed a prototype of a Goblin mask for SM1 (anybody have the pic?) that I thought looked great, though people didn't tend to like it. (I don't know why) He could've pulled it off the way Tom Cruise, pulled off his masks in MI. Everybody believed it then, why not in a comic book movie?

I think a combination of this costume and mask... and maybe scale the gloves and boots down a bit.

Ross' version without the ******ed sword.

I really don't like Ross' version. I loved what he did with the opening of Spidey 2, but the movie version has grown on me and Willem Dafoe's badass performance has sold me on it.
