Wolverine, Cable, Deadpool, X-Man and even Emma Frost have all had successful monthly titles.
Gambit, Rogue, and Nightcrawler (among others) have had a few minis and one shots.
Some of these solo adventures fair better than others, but still there is alot of room within the Marvel Universe to explore individual characters.

I for one, would kill for an ongoing Havok, Gambit or Multiple Man monthly.

Characters like Gambit, Rogue, and Nightcrawler did have their own ongoings, they just got canceled. Most characters just don't have they staying power or good enough stories being told with them to last and usually don't make it past 12 or 24 issues.

Gambit and Rogue have had more than one ongoing if I recall correctly.

I'm surprised they've not tried to give Storm one, as she's probably one of their more popular female characters and not just in the X-Men but the entire Marvel Universe.

Out of those that've already had series, none are really solo or leading character material. That's the problem with most of the X-Men when it comes to this. They work best as an ensemble cast.

I would be inclined to agree with SuperFerret. The X-Men don't really work as well solo, with perhaps the occasional exception to the rule

X-23 should have gotten her own ongoing a long time ago

Havok had one...it was called Mutant X

Gambit had about 3-4

X-23 doesn't really need an ongoing. It'd just guest star Wolverine every other issue to stay a float.

No character needs an ongoing but out of all the X characters who havent had one yet, I think she'dbe the one that would be best equiped to handle one. Would Wolverine guest star? Yes, but every other issue? I think not.

Multiple Man doesn't need a solo series. X-Factor centers around him. It's a continuation of his miniseries from a couple years back, and he narrates every issue.

One of the reasons why I didnt care for early X-factor is bc ie felt like a Multiple Man solo

Yet, you can get behind team stabby which is essentially twelve Wolverines and two or three made into Wolverine like characters to kill?

Yeah, taste evaluation needed. :p

Wolverine. That's about it.

I would enjoy a Scott/Emma maxi-series though.

If anything, everyone on Team Stabby should get an ongoing. Im pushing for X-23, Archangel, Elixir, Warpath, Vanisher, Domino and a brand new Wolverine book. The solos should be a more in depth look into each character (bc theres no time for that in X-force) and possible side missions. They then meet once a month in X-force for the team fix. What a great idea!

I'd say Gambit. Or maybe a gambit/rogue limited series. But spare the wolverine...

Well basically Storm got one with XTreme X-men.

Problem with X characters that isn't Wolverine is they don't usually have draws from readers when they are on their own.

The X-Men definitely work better as an ensemble cast, although most of the characters could probably sustain a decent mini-series every now and again. Storm comes to mind, she could use something to flesh out her connection to both the X-world and Black Panther.

Storm already got one of those.

Please no! We already have enough about Wolverine and she's essentially just Wolverine with breasts.
Gambit had about 3-4
He has actually only had 2 ongoing series. The other two were minis.

X-23 gets a new miniseries every year. She might as well have an ongoing.

actually she's had several of them

She's only had 2 minis, one in the 90s and one in 2006. And the latter was mainly about her past and her relationship with T'Challa, there wasn't much showcasing her role in the X-Men.

Don't forget "Worlds Apart," which I stopped reading partway through, but it apparently involved Nezhno and Black Panther getting possessed by Shadow King.

great art on that mini..ahh Nezhno..he dead yet?
