Celebrate the life and music and indeed acting career of one of showbusiness' greatest legends and a truly special voice.

R.I.P Whitney

Wow, I was shocked when I saw the news of Whitney's passing.

For me this will be her defining moment: [YT]RPtScJKtpos[/YT]

No singer ever sang that song and gave it justice. I loved all her hits, but singing the National Anthem the way she did gave me goosepimples, and still does to this day.

Godspeed Whitney. And Bobby Brown had better never appear in public again.

I was at work when I heard the news, it was pretty tough to absorb. A customers response to the news was pretty moving too.

In this month of black history, this is definitely an unfortunate and sad moment. :csad:
Caught me off guard. Can't say I grew up on Whitney, she was more my mother's generation but I definitely held her in reverence in the music field. One of the greatest singers.

Even though I knew that Whitney had a long losing battle against drugs and addictions, much like the late Amy Winehouse, her sudden & unexpected death at 48 is still a huge shock to me. Maybe her death could've been prevented, maybe not, but right now we can only reflect on her spectacular career and her contribution to the music world. RIP.

Probably the best singer of her generation. R.I.P. Whitney

My favourite Whitney Houston songs:
1. I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)
2. My Love is Your Love
3. I'm Every Woman
4. How Will I Know
5. It's Not Right But It's Okay

I love The Bodygaurd soundtrack. I listened to it constantly back in the 9th grade.

and I'm not the biggest fan of R&B and love songs.

Did not expect this to happen. RIP Miss Houston.

I think her life would have been much better if she never met and married bobby brown. He was the one responsible for ruining her career and introduced her to drugs.

RIP Whitney Houston.

Yeah, I believe that her drug use probably came from her marriage with Bobby Brown, who was (and may still be) notorious for many bad behaviors and even drug uses. Before she met Brown, she never had any personal problems that I know of. How Bobby still lives but Whitney has died is a mystery to me.

As for my favorite song of hers, there are many but I'll list A Moment In Time, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and All At Once (could be my #1).

Just damn. This is just f'n terrible, to see such a wonderful singer & more importantly, a person so involved with her community die at such a young age at a loss with her personal demons.

Sad doesn't even begin to describe it.

She was an incredible singer, her voice by far the best singing voice ever. God bless and sweet dreams Whitney x

R.I.P. Whitney.

This is really shocking. She's gone much too soon.

Really sad news to wake up to :(

This woman gave me many many happy memories, from childhood with my mum, to adult life with female friends, of sticking on The Bodyguard soundtrack in the car and singing along at the top of our lungs and then falling about laughing at how badly we cannot sing like Whitney :)

My personal fave is 'Run to you'... gives me goosebumps and makes me cry every time. Cept this time, i'm crying in a bit of a different way :(

Also love 'I have nothing'

RIP Whitney Houston x

One of the best songs from her, ever.

Im watching some Whitney Houston videos right now. Holy hell...what a voice, and in her prime she was smoking hot! Incredible voice and drop dead gorgeous....talk about being genetically blessed.
I think people will realize just how great she was and how much she contributed to music, unfortunately in the wake of her death but she she deserves it nonetheless

Definitely checking out Sparkle when it's released.

So sad. This woman was so amazingly talented. Now she is a kind of cautionary story. Allowing the wrong sort of people into your life can really destroy you. Rest in peace, Whitney Houston.
