Every movie has negative reviews, even the departed has a similar Tomatometer score. Who are these *******s insulting(racist, misogynistic comments) about critics for not liking(even not loving) the movie. Some people viciously insulted critics for liking it, and not loving it.

It's honestly pathetic.

Not everyone is going to like the movie, not every critic, not every theater goer, not every fan.

And these people insulting haven't even seen the movie yet.

yeah im going to have to agree. the people who are sending attacks and threats to the critics are making the fanboy community look like...well....like what people think we are. honestly, who gives a flying **** is some new york critics dont like the film? i mean, honestly, all the "negative" reviews (all 2 of them) are really just "meh", not even that negative, they just admit the film isn't for them, or they don't get what it's going for. i can't believe the fanboys who are sending emails and threats...its ridiculous.

Are there any examples of these threats out there somewhere? I'd like to read them for myself.

I agree to an extent. To attack a critic because they thought it was "good" but not "great" is rediculous.
But when this happens,

Where the critic is praising the "Black Dahlia" (one of the worst movies in history), and completely bashing the Dark Knight and even There Will Be Blood, the insults and attacks have some foundation. For the most part though, I agree with you.

people are like that....the suck and they are dumb sometimes....but without those people who would i have to make fun of.....kittens...i don't think so...

IMO, I think that these are the people that are still bashing Nolan, because he reinvented Nicholson's Joker. PPL please get over it. He was good, but were in the year 2008 not 1989.

yeah i mean, there will be blood is my all time favorite movie and TDK is probably soon going to be one of my favorites, so that gets my blood boiling but then i realize that someone else disliking a film has no bearing on my opinion. its one thing to be like "dude i cant believe you didnt like those movies, thats silly!" but its another thing to threaten people. think about how this guy felt when black dahlia came out and he was the only guy that liked it...and also no movie with scarjo is the "worst movies in history"...yes it is an absolute abomination but LOOK AT HER.

It's usually their reasons.

"Why do comic book movies try to be serious?"

"Bale can never surpass Keaton."

"Where is the Danny Elfman theme?"

"This movie should be more like Batman and Robin."

etc. Their reasons for marking it low either usually seemed forced or shallow.

Hey man, all I said was New York smells like pee pee.

People become so invested and needy of a film they become protective of it and have ontempt for anyone who would insult it. Aslong as a review has well rounded opinions i don't care if they liked it or not. But i think an undeserving good opinion of a movie is just as stupid as a bad one.

Agreed. For the most part, I don't have a problem with negative reviews, short of making a couple of New York jokes. If they validly explain why they don't like it, that's fine. I can judge whether or not I agree with them.

The only negative review that has really annoyed me was the Armond White review that Yurka mentions here. Not because he doesn't like the film. But because he attacks the people who DO like it. He makes sweeping assumptions explaining how we don't actually like it, and how we're all just mindless sheep following a "hip" cinematic fad. When you're essentially calling out the fanbase, and daring them to attack you, you deserve all the abusive messages you get. Not that I'd be sending him any. He clearly craves the attention.

Those are my problems as well, especially the "Why do comic book movies try to be serious." part, like it's some kind of scarlet letter to base this film off a comic book.

God forbid if Harry Potter or LOTR were comics.

I just have to sit back and laugh at these empty handed death threats. It's the sort of chaos the Joker would approve of.

Although, the fact that the negative reviews seem to stem from the New York film critics circle is suspect. Somebody is making money doing this. Wish it were me.

there are some that are deserving of a good slap on the back of the head (Like the NY Press guy) but the others just don't seem to get it. It's The DARK Knight, it's not like the Burton movies, it is not like the old tv series/60s comics etc... I just feel sorry for those people because clearly their lack of intelligence about the batman franchize is destroying their capability of liking the movie.

No their not. Batman isn't for everyone, The dark Knight isn't for everyone. People disagree all the time about much bigger things that a batman film. [Yes there are more important things]

I don't care about reviews to films like Batman, I'll see it regardless and make my own mind up.

Honestly I care less what any of these stuck up critics think, its not like theyre bat-fans, so why should I care if they bash it, the more they bash it the more Ill love it!

This is true. And honestly, on RT it's just 8 out of 100. That's pretty darn awesome.

It's simple really: Batman=Complete badass. Joker= P.I.M.P. That's why everyone is freaking on people who are pissed it doesn't get a great review. ;) lol
