Yeah really. Quite insane. I'm still leaning towards it being Manwolf (which would rock by the way).

That would be great, but how would they explain him? You've got a man genetically altered with the abilities of a spider, you've got a man gentically altered with the ability to turn into a lizard & you've even got a man genetically altered to turn into sand, but a space crystal that allows a man to turn into a wolf creature, where's the plausibility in that? It does fit in with the supernatural aspect of some of the Spider-Man villains, but that is a theme that should be covered in a future Spider-Man movie.

This would explain why no casting for the 4th villain has occured... and the Jackal wouldn't necesssarily have to be introduced...maybe just cameod in name only like Connors and Brock were in Spidey 1.

Anyway, the 4th villain could turn good at the end and help Spidey in the Battle Royal before "dying" like he did in the comics.

*Prepares for flaming*

P.S. I am serious, it could be...

wow...

just imagine the public backlash.

the comic going audience hated the idea, just imagine what the 'normal' people would think of it!!!!!!

:spidey:

it might happen ,you never know

Dylan Baker has been confirmed to return and we havent heard much of him. It seems like he will be the Lizard, why introduce a new character when they have bunch of old ones.

The Spidey Clone is impossible to happen!

Hey all! :)

Interesting discussion.

Like most people I wonder if its just going to be a teaser of Lizard as a set up for the fourth movie.

Someone brought up the point that we could see the Lizard transform and then flee to the sewers or somesuch. I just got thinking, wouldn't that be the perfect cue to have Kraven come into the fourth movie to hunt the Lizard. Spidey could have his initial battles with the Lizard, but then maybe try to help him, only to then have Kraven enter the fray.

I'm not sure I like the idea of more than three villains within the main story of Spiderman 3, it just seems a touch too cluttered, so I don't think that will happen. Although it does seem beautifully set up with Sandman/Venom/Green Goblin/Spidey, so I definately can see having three villains working well.

They do have the potential to set up Man-Wolf though, but I don't think we will see him in Spiderman 3. Though could we see a Lizard/Man-Wolf/Kraven/Spidey for Spiderman 4 I wonder?

The big question would seemingly then be, who the heck are the villains of Spiderman 5?

Since you would imagine the numerology of Spiderman 6 tells us immediately that they have to use the Sinister Six...right? So thats Dr. Octopus/Mysterio/Vulture/Electro/Sandman/Kraven.

For Spiderman 5, my guess is Mysterio will be the main villain. The reason being that there is so much visual potential in going down the illusion route that he is one of the few remaining villains that can carry a movie practically by himself, although I don't think he will be alone. Firstly they could use Mysterio to summon Demogoblin from Peter's nightmares (I know thats a slight change to the history, but I think it sounds cool). We could also involve Chameleon (back to avenge the defeat of Kraven?) in this movie to confuse spidey even more.

All of which poses the question what the heck can they do for Spiderman 7? Since at this point we are, not so much starting to run out of villains, but starting to run out of cool villains that would create some interesting visuals on screen.

I suppose Hydro-man is one possibility. Other possiblities include the Rhino and the Scorpion (though visually less arresting). While none of those could seemingly carry a movie by themselves perhaps they could all be used together in some capacity?

A symbiote based movie might be cool. But to some extent, after Venom in Spiderman 3 you would be retreading the same ground.

Any thoughts?

Spider-Man 7?!

Don't even bet on it.

The more I think about the story the more it becomes about where does the black suit come from. Do it's properties make it linked to the creation of Sandman? Is Goblin involved? Is Harry trying to replicate Peter's powers? Is it linked to Lizard's origins?

And I think if Lizard is not in the film, Hulk would be awesome, you could really do a whole film of Spiderman vs the Hulk (Spiderman would need help).

Yes, it will and that's possible if you read an interview of Molina gives to Première (French Magazine), he said : "Sam asks me if I would like to be in the sequel. I answer : Am I not supose to die at the end of the second one ? Then he told me : You're not dead...you desappear..."

I think it's going to be Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. But it's probably Lizard since Conners has already been introduced.

The problem I have with Man wolf is that it would be like adding Jameson in an already packed love triangle... also makes no sense cramming Lizards origins in this one either... Raimi said mass Hysteria... it's a Quentin Beck cameo of Mysterio... the only other possibilities (because Dunst said one would be resurected) are Dock Ock or Norman... but that's still a stretch...

Is it not at all possible that the production managers at sony have had the costumes created for nearly every rogue in the gallery already.

I live in australia so i have no idea on film making or nothing but IMHO i would say it would be a very smart move to have those created already, but i dunno probably sounds kinda stoopid.

what y'all think?

Lizard requires too much development. I'm sorry to those who think it is him, but I highly doubt it. Plus, why would they want to use one of the few remaining Spidey villains that can carry a movie himself, and try to pack him in a tight story? Doesn't make sense. I am seeing Shocker, Rhino, Mysterio status villain here.

If it's not Lizard, it could very well be Mysterio.
Which is fine with me!
This movie is going to be incredible!

There won't be 4 villains that will be involved in fight scenes in SM3.There are plenty of ways to have 4 villains. The symbiote could count as one,Norman Osborn in a mirror too,a new villain before he gets his powers. So Eddie Brock could count as one and Venom will be set-up for the next film. They could do the same with Max Dillon before he becomes Electro,Quentin Beck before he becomes Mysterio,Cletus Cassidy.
Man-Wolf will never happen because of the amount of Werewolves in films.Same goes for Morbius. And don't expect a Sinister Six movie.Raimi would have to resurrect at least one guy and I would be disgusted if he did that.

I don t think that this "mass hysteria" or anticipated hype that there creating is to announce that the sym is the 4th villain at the comic con. Thats absurd. Niether is Norman appearing in mirrors. It seems this maybe a minor villain that will easily be disposed of once spidey gets the suit simply to show how powerful his abilities are amplified. This villain may get a stern beating at the hands of spidey to show the mental state of spidey/peter.

Yeah it would be a huge letdown if they considered the suit a villain. Sony is on a bull**** roll lately though with their PS3, maybe the waste is spilling over into their movies division.

notice how the new play station logo looks remarkably similar to a certain movies titles & logo?!?

Lets hope they dont charge $600 to see spiderman lol.

Ok so everyone else has their theory here is mine: ARAD IS SCREWING WITH US!!

That's right now technically is he lying no. I think the villians he is referring to are: Sandman Main villian for most of film, Greengoblin his friend who he can't fight who eventually sacrifices himself for pete by the end of the movie, Eddie Brock that's right plain old eddie no suit brock who is trying to take his job and his girl, and eventually venom by the end we will see brock become venom and this will be the four that he's talking about.

So all these chamelon threads and a second GG ideas i don't buy i think Arad in true Marvel fashion is screwing with our heads and counting eddie and venom seperate. Anyone else agree?

i definitely have the feeling that arad is doing it for hype reasons but not sure exactly what.

Yeah i dunno but i definately could see him rationalizing them really as two different villians. I mean think about one can take his job and girl and the other can EAT HIS BRAINS!
