Hello SuperHeroHypers

I was wondering... in case Sam Raimi isn't returning for Spider-Man 4 (or 5 or 6, for that matter), who would you think could be the ideal director for this?

D!

I don't really know, but whoever does it should love Spider-Man just as much as Sam Raimi does. No Mark Steven Johnsons or Brett Ratners allowed.

No Mark Steven Johnson in ANY movie. That guy is a terrible filmmaker.

I never said I was going to watch the movie ¬¬

Is just a topic to see which director could qualify with his own vision/ sense of cinematography for the next movie.

1. Spike Jonze
2. Alfonso Cuaron
3. Joe Carnahan

Don't forget Joel Schumacher & David Goyer. They blow ass as well.

I think Peter Jackson would be a terrific choice. I highly doubt it'll happen, but in a perfect world that's what I'd like to see. Don't know how many people would be in favor of a 3 Hour+ Spider-Man movie though...

1) David Fincher or Alfonso Cuaron

2) cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Peter Parker/Spider-man

Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Jane Watson

and Maggie Smith (Hook, Harry Potter) as Aunt May

3) then bring in talented writers who "get it".

4) break box office records and get international praise from critics/fans

Sam Raimi is fine, he just needs good writers...like the 2 guys who wrote Spider-Man 2...the two guys that write a little tv show called "Smallville"

the future spiderman sequels will be, not bad, but different.

Like the way they will be written, the whole mood, theme, diction, tone, voice, it will all seem strange because it wont be like Sam's.

Director wise:

I dont really know but I AM AGREEING, WITH NO MARK STEVEN JOHNSON!!!!

Smallville sucks.

It's Dawson's Creek with superpowers.

Give Alfonso Cuaron or David Fincher the writers from Heroes and SM4 will blow Spider-man 2 out of the water.

Those are some great ideas right there Mary Winstead gots MJ written all over her

Guys enough of James Cameron and Peter Jackson... you know thats not happening... I'd like Elijah as Parker but I hear good things about Levitt... anyone but Tobey... and Raimi needs to go too... inexcusable... everyone will be in shock about this for years

Guillermo Del Toro

Robert Rodriquez

dare I suggest.... Christopher Nolan?

hell no one because nobody ever keeps to the origianl stuff if anyhting todd mcfarlane he knows how to make his fans happy

I'd take Joss Whedon any day of the week, and maybe Gore Verbinski.

btw, as awesome as Fincher is, isn't this a little light for him.

Tim Burton. Let me explain first. I think the Spider-Man films after the unusual touch of Raimi could use some nasty fun villainy and a more cohesive visual experience. I was watching Batman Returns to other day and kept thinking how this treatement would have great with Spidey especially if they would bring back the Green Goblin as the nasty, scary, memorable villain he was in the comics. Not Power Ranger like Raimi did. I watched Batman and Batman Returns back-to-back and to me-done right- the genuine GG would be like this, a mix of Burton's Joker and Burton's Penguin. A joyful but nasy fella.

A want the real Green Goblin brought to the screen and only Tim Burton could do this! If you have Gwen Stacy in the flick(a la Vicky Vale) and The Black Cat(a la Catwoman) this would already be familiar territory for Tim.

This would be for just one movie, and then Sony could hire another director for the remaining of the franchise if they want. But I want Green Goblin and only Burton could do this.

Here are the possiblities - it's either going to be a new flashy director we haven't heard of yet or it's going to be an already established action movie director, but not that famous - The recent trendy Spanish directors and David Fincher are too serious and dark for Spiderman; Spike Jonze, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Gondry are too wacky; Terrnier is doing the next Hulk; Snyder is doing Watchmen; Tim Story is gonna be with FF4 flicks; Mark Steven Johnson, Burton, Shumaker, and Goyer probably won't be hired again to direct superhero flicks cuz they suck with Superheros movies; Steven Speilberg, Ridley Scott and Cameron would be great but they are too good and wouldn't do it, Favreau is probably gonna be doing all the Iron Man sequels.

I think these guys are studio favorites, if not a new flashy director:
Roberto Rodriguez (Spy Kids trilogy and Sin City)
Alex Proyas (of Dark City and I Robot fame)
Stephen Summers (Van Helsing and Mummy flicks)
Joe Johnson (Jurrasic Park 3, Jumanji)
Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day)
Martin Campbell (Casino Royal, Goldeneye, Zorros)

Spider-Man 3 was disappointing yes, but replacing Raimi would be a bad idea. I mean, you know the man can do wonders with the right script and cast (Spider-Man 1 and 2)
