As huge as the Star Wars saga is its really not been that helpful to the careers of many of the actors involved...

ORIGINAL TRILOGY CREW​

from the Original Trilogy cast..the ONLY one who went on to have a prolific high profile film career was Harrison Ford.

At the time most people would have thought Mark Hamill because he played the hero or Carrie Fisher cause she was the hot chick..

PREQUEL TRILOGY CREW

The Prequel Trilogy cast is different since a number of already high profile actors were cast. Of those only Natalie Portman went on to win an oscar. So you have to reverse it and ask who was LEAST HELPED by being in Star Wars and that has to be Jake Lloyd (young Anakin) who quit acting after it and is very bitter about his experience. But Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen didn't get that great a bump up in their careers either. Sam Jackson just maintained and Jimmy Smits ended up back on tv in Sons of Anarchy

So looking at the pattern of the history of the films and how they impact actors careers....Who do you think will be the big actor whose career will skyrocket from out of the New Trilogy? If the pattern holds up there can only be ONE!

Well it's essentially multiple different questions, for example who will be most helped by it, then obviously Ridley as she was in nothing before, so even if her career goes the way of Hamill/Fisher it will still be much bigger than it ever would have been. And unlike Lloyd or Hayden, she isn't getting negative feedback and so her career will never go the way of theirs.

I think Isaac will be the most successful out of the new trilogy but I think that would have happened anyway, considering he also has X-men and multiple lauded roles prior.

Gleeson and Driver were already known consistent talents, and so SW will boost their fanbase and the amount of roles they are offered, but I think both will stick with smaller budgets film. So maybe they will never go superstar big.

Overall though, I think Boyega, Finn seems to be loved, Boyega himself seems to be loved, he has already proven himself in another film prior, he seems incredibly charismatic, so I think out of all them he will become one of the biggest which maybe he wouldn't have done without Star Wars.

Issac, Driver and Gleeson already have a considerable filmography and most likely would've been fine without Star Wars. Being cast in Star Wars is only a further recognition of their own talents and prior accomplishments, and now with Star Wars, they will surely have even more freedom to pursue various creative venues.

So in that regard, Daisy Ridley for sure will probably be the breakout star. The girl was working in a pub when she was cast. Star Wars is the story of a nobody becoming somebody through an extraordinary encounter, and Daisy's story is just as magical as Rey's. When I watch her I feel as if I'm watching Cinderella, and I never want her clock to strike midnight.

Ridley and Boyega. Both really did well and as long as they avoid being typecase into genre films, they will flourish in Hollywood.

I don't pay attention to any pop culture **** since my mid 30s...if I know who you are now its because you are REALLY famous and have major hype...thats the stardom I'm talking about...when even a person who ain't paying attention knows who you are. As far as I'm concerned until this film ALL those mofos were unknowns/little knowns.

Gleeson, Issac and Driver were already significant up and comers with notable film and television roles behind them.

Boyega had a notable calling card in cult movie Attack The Block. Since that movie Boyega had a few TV and indie movie roles. He was rumoured to be in the running for various big budget studio flicks like Kingsman but lost out to others. Boyega seems the most career driven out the new cast. He has Robert Downey Junior as his mentor, was signed to a major agency in LA and often talks about his 'team around him helping him pick roles/guide his career'.

This is Ridley's first big movie. She had previously had small roles in British TV shows and appeared in a couple music videos. Ridley could be a successful actress but she seems the least interested in being a 'movie star'. She starts her psychology degree next year.

Yeah, I read that about Boyega. It's cool how he approached RDJ for advice on how to cope with stardom and not his established SW co-stars because he felt it was unprofessional of him to do so. I caught him on The Graham Norton Show and thought he had bags of charm and carried himself very well.

Ridley will Jennifer Lawrence it up for the next few years. Good performance in first movie ever that also just happens to gross 2B+? She'll rocket up.

Can almost get any film she wants now and if she puts in another performance like the TFA one she'll be set.

Boyega has heart and was great, he could do well.

Isaac will get roles but I feel he's close to peaking.

Ridley ultimately has the most potential and with the exposure she gets from Star Wars she'll be in a unique position where she can actually fully utilise it.

Hype and being a so called movie star is vastly overrated. Even household name and A-List actors have movies that bomb these days.

Bradley Cooper can star in American Sniper which makes a ton of money and then star in movies like Burnt, Alohoa & Serena that bomb. Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Robert Downey and many others have had movies that have not done well at the box office.

Recognition does not guarantee success.

you'd think but remember lupita won an oscar and all kinds of attention.. and her next high profile gig came 5 years later in a voice actor role.

Do not compare Boyega to Lautner please. Boyega is a far better actor. And no, I'm not saying this because I hate Twilight. I'm saying this because Lautner is crap compared to Boyega.
